French President Emmanuel Macron promised his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky that Paris would help Kiev strengthen its air defense. This is stated in a message on the website of the Elysee Palace, published following telephone conversations between the heads of the two states.
During the conversation, which took place on Tuesday, November 1, the leaders of the countries discussed the situation in Ukraine and at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Macron also assured Zelensky that France has mobilized all resources to increase military support for Kiev as soon as possible.
In addition, the French president expressed his determination to help Ukraine prepare for the upcoming winter. “The two presidents agreed to organize an international conference in Paris on December 13 to support the country’s civil sustainability in the winter period. To this end, preparatory work with other partners of Ukraine will begin in the near future,” the message reads.
In October, Macron said that France intends to strengthen support for Ukraine, including by increasing the supply of military equipment.
