Yes, I’m frustrated! The worship in my church is a lot slower than what I’m used to & most people in the congregation don’t really seem to want to liven things up, although I think that would certainly help. It’s a congregation that has people who truly love God & there are some of us, including our pastor, who really love to worship & want things to liven up, but the congregation can’t seem to wake up. They love their old standards & favourites, not realising that there’s a whole other world out there of music that could really enrich their lives, both in church & out of church.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to liven things up, apart from adding drums & other instruments besides a piano? No one besides myself & the other pianist are willing to accompany the service, & so we don’t really have anyone willing to stand up and lead. Our pastor’s frustrated, too, since his gifting’s not that of a worship leader. I’ve offered to do so if a mike was placed at the piano, but so far that offer’s not been taken up.
Yes, I’m praying, but I’m just wondering if anyone else can understand my frustration &, if so, has any ideas that would really help me out here. Any suggestions are welcome & stuff. If you want more details on my church in order to provide the best ideas, please feel free to ask. Thanks!
