The permanence of this sacrifice is in the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. The relationship between Divine Father and Son is changed by the fact that Jesus becomes a Man, son of a human mother. From the moment of the Incarnation unto the rest of eternity, Jesus will approach His Father not just as the Son of God, but now as the Son of Man. In this sense, the exclusiveness of the primeval relationship within the Trinity gives way to Christ’s betrothal to the Church.
