Really? How does God benefit from our worship?
I was brought up to believe it is our duty and service to worship God at all times and in all places.
It is in contemplation of the infinitude of all aspects of God’s holiness, that we admit our own finite mortality and dependence and aspire to the perfection God intended for us. Is it not?
On denominations – What is in a name? A rose by any other name would smell the same. THere were seven very different churches in Asia which Jesus instruced St. John to write to. DEnominations are just as different and just as much “churches” as these were.
Which one of the seven would you choose to join? They were ALL churches of Christ, even the one He treatened to spew out of His mouth.
