I beleive, if we take romans 10:9-10 and apply it practically,
we will see the “understanding’, of not only what sin is, but that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”(rom 3:23) is an given, to say the least.
and the bible verses I mentioned dont even have to be read or referred to(but in todays world, why wouldnt you?).
Ro 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Ro 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Ro 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Ro 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
I posted extra, to get context.
What we believe, in our heart(utmost being/jewish tradition loins/bosom), determines our faith.
a head knowledge, isnt good enough. satan, has head knowledge, AND—first hand experience.
so, believing in our heart that “GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD”
is the very core, to the question in the OP.
I get mighty and readily preturbed, when ever I continually see people talking
without ONCE—MENTIONING THE RESURRECTION
absolutely of the utmost importance, is the resurrection.
no gospel, no salvation–without the Resurrection.
why do we die, for crying out loud?
why did Jesus die, for crying out loud?
why did Jesus Resurrect?
to DEFEAT THE STRONGHOLD SIN HAD ON US—DEATH.
We, need not fear death, ANYMORE.
without the understanding of what sin is, and the results of what it does, one CAN NOT BE SAVED.
our Faith, is what justifies us, our Faith in the Messiah/Christ.
but, was he just some “great guy” who taught great things,
or did he die and resurrect, and for what reason?
Faith in Jesus, the Son of God, dead, resurrected, and ascended—is salvation.
