From what I have read in your post. Imperfect contrition comes from fear that sin will lead is to hell while perfect contrition comes from Love of God.
To me it looks like perfect contrition is part of Jesus Sanctifying Grace that leads us closer to God and to be more like Christ.
Imperfect contrition comes more from fear of hell then out of Love for God. Not to say that a person doesn’t Love God but the primary motivation is fear rather then love.
Have I understood this correctly?
