I just wanted to post that the Sacrametn of confession is a great gift. As another poster in a different forum said. That we as imperfect humans need help tp be “perfectly” sorry for our sins and have a perfect contrite heart.

Personally I have never looked at it that way. I have been sorry and had a contrite heart but after I read their post I had to re-think it in those terms. Have I been perfectly sorry and have had a perfect contrite heart and know what that meant.?

This is another reason why we have the Sacrament of Reconsiliation. It helps us the rest of the way into a “perfect sorry” and a perfect contrite heart.

We are so wounded that we even need God’s help to be perfectly sorry.
