Home Forums Re: The Pope AntiChrist?

That’s exactly my point.People have suspected the pope being the antiChrist for many years, because they know there is something wrong with a religious leader having this much power and attention. Each of the great reformers had this view of the pope.

Martin Luther stated: “We are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the real and true AntiChrist. Personally, I declare that I owe the pope no other obedience than that to AntiChrist.”

John Wickliffe said of the pope:”Why is it necessary in unbelief to look for another AntiChrist.”

John Knox stated: “As for the Roman church …I no more doubt that it is the synagogue of Satan.”

William Tyndale stated:” I defy the pope and all his laws. If God spare my life, ere many years I will cause a boy that driveth the plough to know more of the scripture than he does.”

John Calvin said of the pope:” I deny him to be the vicar of Christ, who,in furiously persecuting the Gospel demonstrates by his conduct that he is AntiChrist.”

Anything is AntiChrist that takes the place of Christ. We are to worship only Christ.

I don’t believe the pope is the AntiChrist. But I believe he is A AntiChrist. I also believe it’s very possible that he will be the False Prophet of “the AntiChrist”

It’s clear that the Anti-christ will be a non-religious figure from scripture according to Daniel 11:37

The AntiChrist will be more of a charismatic political leader. However he will appoint a “religious” figure as his False Prophet. (Rev. 16,19,20)who in the final days will lead people to worship “the AntiChrist”. When I asked if the pope was the Antichrist, what I meant was ,is he the False Prophet of the coming AntiChrist? See the devil copies everything that God does because He wants to be God. Therefore Satan will have his own version of the trinity. Satan, the AntiChrist, and the False Prophet will be Satan’s own perverted version of the trinity. We all know that we are in the very last days and so we should be seeing more Biblical prophecies unfold before our eyes.
