I too agree with most of what’s been posted here. I get what I believe about Christ and his gospel from the words and deeds of Christ as well as the Apostles, but the traditions we have to celebrate those beliefs may come from the culture in which we live or are influenced by. For instance, my wife and I have established a tradition of devotional time before church down at the corner gas station, which includes donuts and juice. I’m quite sure pagans do the same, the difference is in the purpose.
By the way, I do celebrate Santa Claus because the Americanized version is predominently based on the legend of St. Nicholas, who was the epitome of giving.
