Honestly, if this is a bigger concern for you then homosexual marriage I wouldn’t support anything that messes with Equal Protection as this stipulation of the 14th Amendment simply means that all people receive equal protection under the law. This applies to equal freedom of speech, equal freedom of assembly and equal freedom of religion! The scary thing about tampering with the EPC is that it deals with all freedoms for all people! I would seriosuly think twice about anything that attempts to supplant Equal Protection, especially if your concerns are as you have stated!
