“Assuming you are a true Christian, are you willing to say that you will live the rest of your life without ever sinning again?”
‘Willingness’ is the key issue in this question.
If one truly does love Christ, then they would be “willing” to completely surrender to His will and completely obey Him.
Considering that the bible tells us that Christ only wants good things for us and will never withhold any good thing to those who “follow” His ways and instructions, why wouldn’t someone who truly believes this want to completely submit to His will and take advantage of the blessings He has for us.
Please try to keep things in perspective though. “Man” cannot be obedient to God on his own. The only way that a person can be completely obedient to God is to have “Christ in you”. Only Christ can be completely and perfectly obedient. The bible teaches that Christ was the only one who was ever completely sinless, therefore the only way for us to be completely sinless in the way we live is to have Christ in our hearts and allow Him to control our very being.
I cannot obey the law of God, but since I have Christ in me, He empowers me with the ability to obey the law of God. Therefore it is Christ who deserves the credit for my no longer living in sin.
The good news is that anyone can gain access to this power, and its really simple:
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
Luke 11:9 “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
