I think it is the result of moving plates under the seas, and an horrifically unfortunate natural disaster. Placing an end times religious spin on the devestation is disgusting to those who are not christians.
I started a post on this topic, and I deleted it as inappropriate, but I see that end time fanatics have no such compunction.
If anything comes from this horror, it may be a realization that we are all one species sharing one home, and we need to get our collective rears in gear to do a better job of creating safety and harmony among our fellows.
Perhaps, we will decide that religious differences and the hatred and blood lust that comes with fanaticism should at last be eliminated for the betterment of all. If we must defend ourselved against nature, we had best stop killing each other, and gain strength for whatever rocky road our planet has planned for humanity in the future.
