We are incapable to earn salvation I don’t think any christian would debate that. Rather It’s a gift that God has Given us through Jesus Christ. To receive. Yes I do believe somthings are Predestined and some people are chosen by God to do things to show his Glory. Not that he wasn’t convinced after being swallowed by a great big fish but Jonah illistrates our choice by deciding not to do Gods will. However Gods will still prevailed, and I think that’s the focal point of the debate here. Are we sure we are even looking at the issue in the right manner. Could it be that God allows free will to allow us to make the choices we make and yet still preform his will through our own free will….I don’t know just a thought maybe I’m way off or maybe I’ve made my point a little confusing….
I found this verse in Joshua. If God doesn’t allow free will please explain what Joshua is talking about, Because it seems to me he is talking about the choice to serve God or ourselves.
Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
