Hello!

>>It “sucks and is stupid” because it is just so unbelievable. I am science/psychology student (well i was til i graduated anyway, now i’m “just” a mum) but one of the biggest part of my studies was statistics. you know the chance of evolution happening? well put it this way, there is more chance of a tornado tearing through a junk yard and putting together a jumbo 747.

>>

I’m a PhD student in Chemical Biology. Your statistic is misrepresented. Evolution is all about probabilities and chance. But those stats represent the number of random events needed for evolution to progress. And they are not as small as you proport in your message. Evolutionary theory suggests that life began 3 billion years ago. Humans evolved only 200,000 years ago. We have been here 0.006% of the total time that life has existed. That is enough time for these random events to occur.

IMHO, people who do not believe in evolution have a tough time understanding events on this time scale. One needs to understand genetics and the events that can occur on a large time scale, not the small time scale in our perception (eg: day to day).

>>now if someone told you they believed that happened you’d laugh at them wouldn’t you??? sure it could happen, but not likely.

>>

Well, I would ask more probative questions and be skeptical of spurious statistics.

>basically why is evolution wrong? biblically because God said he made us and spells it out quite clearly the order of the creation of everything which is very different to the order of evolution.

>>

Now THAT makes me laugh!

>>why cientifically? well you could write a book….. or two or endless books actually. my best suggestion is get your hands on a copy of a magazine called creation ex nihilo, it has a new name now but i can’t think of what its called. its based in australia and put out by a group that used to be called the creation science foundation but its also changed names and for the life of me, i can’t remember its new name either.

>>

I’ve read an issue. It’s bogus spurious science.

>>

and on the same topic, many famous scientists believed in the bible and its literal-ness including the fact that we were created and did not evolve. a good book on this topic is “21 great scientists who believed in the bible” by ann lamont, published by creation science foundation in a few languages. the scientists include isaac newton and the wright brothers (three of the most famous).

>>

No, no. I know this. I work side by side with an devout Christian who holds Bible studies in his apartment. I think one’s beliefs is different from the drive to know more.

There are some scientists who don’t believe in Evolution. But the point is they cannot disprove it. Besides blind faith, there is not an iota of evidence which suggest that: A) Evolution is wrong, and B) Creationism is correct.

>>

don’t be fooled by the THEORY of evolution. it is just a theory by secular scientists trying to take God out of the picture on the topic of how we got here. the fact of creation is known by not just christians but many other religions such as judaism and islam to name a few. creation myths are incredibly common across native populations on all continents. the idea of creation has been around a lot longer than the idea of evolution.

>>

1) Science produces Theories. The Theory of Relativity for example. A Theory is accepted as true until proven wrong. You should know that from your science background.

2) Creationism has been around since man invented religion. Evolution is new because it took intelligent people to come up with the theory. Just like it took intelligent people to realize how to properly fight diseases. Did the Bible tell us how to cure polio?

>>

don’t be fooled. it is just satan’s attempt to fool people into not believing in the truth of the bible.

>>

I disagree. I think one can reconcile their faith and still have a full understanding of science.

Cheers!
