May I conclude from this that “YOU” believe that the Eunuch had to be baptised to be saved?
If you do then you are preaching “Works Theology” and you are WRONG! Yes, we do have to accept what JESUS did for us! Yes we do have to confess our sins to HIM! NO, we do NOT have to be baptised to be saved!
Proof of this comes in the next chapter of Acts. Nowhere do we see where there was any water involved when Ananias came to Saul/Paul. The scales fell from his eyes and he was baptised in the SPIRIT but nowhere is there water.
Later in his writings, in a discussion of baptism he states,1Cr 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1Cr 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. It is the cross that saves, not baptism in water!
Now why would JESUS send him to preach the Gospel and get people saved but not have him baptize them if that were needed to complete salvation?
