![]() This emblem of the menorah and fish entertwined to create the Star of David is believed to be the oldest symbol of faith in Israel's Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth. It was found in Jerusalem in a grotto that is believed to have been used as a meeting place for the group of first-century disciples that was led by Yeshua's half-brother Ya`akov (James). … nobody who knew the Messiah in the flesh ever called Him “Jesus?” … in fact, it is grammatically impossible to even say the words “Jesus” or “Jehovah” in Hebrew? … Yeshua (Jesus) and His Talmidim (Disciples) were all Torah-observant Jews to the day they died? … Rabbi Sha’ul (the Apostle Paul) returned to Jerusalem from one of his missionary journeys to offer sacrifices in the Temple? … until well after the end of the first century, almost all the followers of Messiah were Jewish, and “The Way” (as Messianic Judaism was then called) continued to be predominately Jewish until well into the fourth century? … when Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) came at Pentecost, the Jews upon whom He “fell” did not become “Christians”? … in fact, a Jewish Believer in Messiah doesn’t become a Christian and stop being a Jew? … the Bible does not apply the word “Christian” to believing Jews, only to believing Gentiles, and even then it is a only translation of the term “Messianic” into Greek, and may even have been used as a derogatory term? … the “church,” as we know it, did not come into existence until the fourth century? … the word “church” the so-called “New Testament” is actually an incorrect translation of the very same word used in the so-called “Old Testament” for the Holy Convocations of Israel? … in the Messianic Kingdom [also called “the Kingdom Age”], Jews and Gentiles will worship Yeshua together in the Jerusalem Temple? And that worship will probably include the offering of sacrifices? … there is a form of true Biblical faith today in which Jews and Gentiles can worship side-by-side as one in Yeshua the Messiah? |

So what’s a Jew doing on a Christian domain? Did you know that when a Jew comes to saving faith in Israel's Messiah he or she does not beome a Christian and stop being a Jew? In 1967, just at the time of Israel’s Six Day War, an amazing thing happened in the United States. Within just a few weeks of each other, three small groups of Jewish people who were widely separated across the country (California, Ohio, and Florida) discovered that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is Israel's Messiah. Within just a very short time, tens of thousands of Jewish people suddenly accepted Yeshua. Why 1967? Because that is when Jerusalem came back into Jewish hands in fulfillment of a prophecy given by Yeshua in the Brit Hadashah (Luke 21:24). This prophecy indicated that when Jerusalem was restored to the Jewish people God would turn once again to His Jewish people in national salvation. Messianic Judaism is a prophetic movement and a direct result of the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit upon His Chosen People. While there are no concrete figures, it has been estimated by many that there are at least 100,000 Jewish believers in the Messiah Yeshua in the United States alone, with over 60 Messianic congregations and synagogues in Israel, and this number is growing all the time. Today the movement of Messianic Judaism is in many other countries throughout the world including Israel, England, France, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Canada and other countries. This is truly an international movement! We believe that Messianic Judaism will eventually spring up wherever there are communities of Jewish people throughout the world. The modern “Messianic Restoration Movement” is many things, but one of its many key elements is the work to restore the lost Hebraic nature of scriptural faith. Sometimes this is called “returning to our Jewish roots” and so, in part, it is. But it is more. The Most High gave an eternal style to our ancient faith that would be unmistakable in the world as belonging to Him. His people were to be His own and to be His unique witness to the world. We are to be a chosen people, a kingdom of priests, a holy nation. Now tens of thousands of Gentile Christians all around the world are also embracing Messianic Judaism as the form of worship as it was practiced by Believers in the Messiah in the first century, and as many believe it will be practiced in Messiah’s soon-coming earthly Kingdom. If you are a non-Jewish person who has embraced Israel’s Messiah, you have been grafted (adopted) into the family of Avraham, Yitzhak, and Ya`akov (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), and you are now entitled to “remember and keep’ the Lord’s Sabbath and to participate in all of the Feasts that God provided for Israel to enjoy. |
