BLINDSIDE NEWS ****MY CONCERT REVIEW- 5/23/2004*** I got to the venue at about 4:30 and didn't leave the concert until well after midnight. I was one of the tour representatives so I helped out with the meet and greet. The guys in Blindside and P.O.D. were so down-to-earth. They really have things in perspective. Sonny said in response to a question about how he handles fame and family, that it's 'God first,... then my family,... and then the band' [not a direct quote] The show begain with a band called Lacuna Coil from Italy. They have both a female and a male lead singer. Not my favorite. Mostly everyone just gave them the polite headbang. The only thing they had going for them was the synchronized headbanging of their band members throughout their set. Next was Hazen St. They have a kind of rap-rock style. But more rap than rock. They got the crowd to liven up a little but everyone knew who we were all there for. Next was the long-awaited and revered BLINDSIDE. The set list was as follows: - Eye of the Storm - Pitiful - Follow You Down - Caught A Glimpse - All of Us - Shekina - Sleepwalking - Cute Boring Love - Swallow - About a Burning Fire (great choice to close the set with i.m.o.) The crowd surfers seemed to spread all over the crowd like wildfire. You could definately feel a connection with the band as they sang out to God. Christian has such a great voice. He can scream and sing! Although all the guys really stepped up on this album. They just keep on getting better! I screamed so loud my voice gave out and I got dehydrated from being there for 7 1/2 hours jumping up and down and headbanging! It was all WELL worth it. Finally P.O.D. came out and rocked the house. After they finished their set the crowd chanted their name until they did any encore. All around it was an incredible experience. Tickets were cheap. And if you showed up for the meet and greet although didn't have tickets for it.... if they still had room they let you in anyway! THIS IS A SHOW YOU SIMPLY CAN'T MISS!!! [review is my opinion only and does NOT depict the opinions of Praize/Blindside/P.O.D. in any way] ****MEET & GREET*** The first 100 fans to purchase the "Special Advance" tickets to the show in their area are invited to an exclusive meet and greet with Blindside and P.O.D. Check out either of the bands' websites for more info. & when they will be coming to your little hole in the wall! ****TOUR--STARTING 05/01/04*** P.O.D. is going on tour with Blindside. ABOUT THE BAND Blindside consists of: *Christian Lindskog- lead vocals *Simon Grenehed- guitar *Tomas Noslund- bass & Marcus Dahlstrom- drums. Blindside was formed in 1994. Their albums include the lesser known, 12 track "A Thought Crushed My Mind" (2002) & a 13 track self-titled ablum in 1997. Their first album that made it mainstream was "Silence" (2002). On which are "Silence" and "Caught A Glimpse". The boys of Blindside combine kick butt quitar-riffs with palpable emotion and haunting vocals to create their unique sound. Not to mention each song's lyrics sound like a love song to God,... just intertwined with HARD CORE ROCK!! Their latest compilation, released 2/24/04, has 12 tracks, one of which they feature ex-Pumpkin/Zwan singer Billy Corgan. ("Hooray It's L.A.") It's also where you'll find their first single "All of Us" ranked #1 on ChristianRock.net. If you haven't heard of Blindside, you are definately missing out!
