Canada Day
O Canada... 138 years ago Canada began as its own nation. Here to give the world maple syrup, Mounties, and beavers. Okay, that's not all there is to Canada, it must be something special if it has been voted the greatest nation on earth like 8 out of the last 10 years...

Parents day
George W. Bush, the President of the United States of America, said "Children are a daily reminder of the blessings and responsibilities of life and a source of joy, pride, and fulfillment. Parents, stepparents, adoptive parents, and foster parents have the important responsibility of providing for, protecting, nurturing, teaching, and loving their children. On Parents' Day, we honor America's mothers and fathers and celebrate the values that bind families from one generation to the next and help define us as a Nation.
As a child's first teachers, parents are the most influential and effective instructors in a child's life. Through their words, actions, and sacrifices, parents are living examples for children. Young boys and girls watch their parents closely and imitate their behavior. Parents play a critical role in instilling responsibility, integrity, and other life lessons that shape the lives of America's future leaders...(I) do hereby proclaim Sunday, July 27, 2003, as Parents' Day. I encourage all Americans to express their respect and appreciation to parents everywhere for their contributions to their children, families, communities, and our Nation. I also call upon citizens to observe this day with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities."
How about that? God bless our parents.

National Garlic Day
There is an old story that says that a man brought onions to a far away land, having never eaten an onion the king of the land gave the man the countries most valued possession, up to that time, a truck load of gold. Having heard this story the man's friend sought after riches as well. He decided to bring garlic to that country. Being blown off his feet once again the king decreed that this man would also be given the land's most valued possession, a truck load of onions :(

National Hot Dog Day
According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, Americans will eat 2 billion hot dogs in July alone.
What is crazier to you, the 2 billion hot dogs eaten in July or the fact that there is a National Hot Dog and Sausage Council?
