World AIDS Day
According to the World AIDS Day website; Last year, the global AIDS pandemic claimed an estimated 3 million lives, and an estimated 5 million people acquired HIV - bringing to 40 million the estimated number of women, men and children living with the virus world-wide.
Not a holiday with turkey and mashed potatoes, but a day calling for more of a global knowledge of this disease to bring a cure and end the suffering.

Fast of 10th Tevet
This Jewish holiday is a very special one. Tevet, as it is found in the book of Esther, is a time of the year remembered when king Nebuchadnezzar tormented the Jewish people and they were famined like never before. In common day, the Jewish communities spend time in fasting and prayer to mark this day in remembrance of who died in the Holocaust.

First Day Of Winter
Get out your gloves an winter jackets, snow and cold weather are on the way, if it hasn't already come. Don't you just love making snow angels and having a snowball fight? Winter marks the end of the year with the closing of the forth greet season created by God. It also marks the days where long underwear is a normal part of my wardrobe.

Christmas Eve
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house stomachs were full, children overly excited and Santa's sleigh ready for flight. Traditionally the night before Christ Mass in the church, it is the night before the big day of Christ's Birthday.

Boxing day
What does Boxing Day mean to you? The Feast of St. Stephan, the day to pack up all those empty boxes from presents, a fist-fight between two fighters, the upper-class boxing up food to give to the poor, or a day to sit back and relax. Whatever it may mean to you, don't let all the great sales in the mall make you forget the reason-for-the-season.
