            <description>Hi, you might call me the &amp;quot;Original Mama Grizzly,&amp;quot; as I am the one who cried out to God during Hurricane Katrina, asking God to wake America up, discipline us and call us to repentance so that we could AVOID the oncoming Judgment of God...

I never have had a lot of visions but I always get a very CLEAR vision of His coming Judgment whenever our country gets close to it. This has happened about 4 times since I was about 10 years old.

Please JOIN me in intercession and warfare prayer and fasting for our nation.

Please see my post in the thread about &amp;quot;Do You Go to Church?&amp;quot; to learn more about this burden that I have.

And then please visit my site at http://www.originalmamagrizzly.com to sign up for my podcast and to join me in prayer. I want to make this a time of real interactive and powerful prayer and I have already seen so many answers to prayer that God has graciously given!

Please also give me your feedback on how you would like to pray.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Edie Wiske

            <description>We have many people who will be prophesying doom and gloom in the coming days and those that will be speaking unbelievable authority and the power of God being released in the days to come.
You want to know something both are probably true, I have had this undeniable sense of caution about the days a head with the weather problems and all. America faces catastrophic financial problems with damages to property after the tornados,many insurance groups may go under.
Many farm crops and farms have been destroyed,at least 10 towns of 50,000 or more have been leveled and you know what we still have the summer storm months to come. There are 100&#039;s of thousands of people with no where to go tonight with snow storms coming to 1/3 of the area that has been hit. People without the churches and only if the US govt turns to them is there a chance to go through this. Remember Egypt turned her back on Israel and every 1st born of that nation was taken but God walked Israel (Goshen) out of Egypt and through the Red Sea.
Do you know that just one of the smaller gyms in the wall around the Holy City is enough to get through this with enough left to have a bank account for the nation. Remember this that city is foursquare with 3 other wall 1500 miles long surrounding it.There are huge precious Jewels in each wall and the streets are the purest Gold.
God has the ability through the holy spirit to use you and for the prophectic ability to speak creative miracles into being. Remember when the world speaks the worst of doom and gloom--- God----has--not spoken yet!!!!!!!!
Your God does not how to say I can&#039;t or Idon&#039;t know so when the world speaks whose report will you believe

            <description>Hello again!

About a year ago, I released a warning here about the great tribulation, which every Christian should be made aware of.

What I didn&#039;t realize at that time though, was that the Lord still had more to reveal on the subject.

Amongst these latest revelations there&#039;s also one more warning which is connected to a dream that I had as a boy, to which I&#039;ve only now been given the answer.

You can download this latest pdf from here ... http://filebeam.com/fa97f[...]63788a1

or here ... http://www.quickfiles.net/398658

Or if you haven&#039;t yet read the first one, you should be able to obtain it from here ... http://www.quickfiles.net/810942

            <description>Compromising Christians in the Last days

as the accepted standard by Joseph Romero

Who then is a faithful and wise servant?

It is very clear we are looking at some very tough times.

Christians we see may not really be Christians at all.

Remember the wide road had many on it that thought they were heaven bound. They came to Jesus and called Him Lord. and Jesus states He does not know them. Even though they were in ministry.

This should be a concern. My mission statement is simple to increase the few that are on the narrow road, even if it means loving on tares that need to become wheat.

(ears to hear required)

The bible is clear...

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Folks would having a form of godliness, but denying the power 2 Tim 3: 1-5

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim 3: 7

scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 2 Peter 3:3,4,

As you can see by the scriptures you’ve just read, that carnal Christians would be huge in the end time period.

Did you notice that in 2 Peter chapter 3 verses 3 and 4? That their own lust would be part of the reasons for not maturing but rather staying in that carnal relationship level. In 2 Tim 3 the picture is clear as to who paul was talking about. They were faithful in receiving knowledge “ever learning”; paul continues stating

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

***perilous times

(dangerous, unsafe, Hazardous, risky, death defying)

Christian Times are hard right now,

Our way of life is being attacked and why.

Right now in other countries if you are a Christian you are being asked to leave certain countries.

Muslim countries are being very violate with Christians.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves,

I thought it was interesting that so many people are defending their gay lifestyles, their Priorities are clear their want what they want. covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (hates, look down on, loathes)traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures(Enjoyment, delight, gratify, delight,)more than lovers of God; Having a form

(outward appearance, structure, kind, manner, lifestyle, )

of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Tim 3: 1-5

Ever learning 2 Tim 3: 7

Ever Learning...

There’s lots of knowledge, and its good,

but it will not save you!

Knowledge alone, will not save you.

If its not the right stuff!

You must activate that knowledge!

Use it, or lose more than your memory!

Friends its time to dig deep

***Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

The Good News is that many Christians know this and are alert(watchful)Stay alert!

Remember in the Flesh you can not please God. But if you walk in the spirit you will not fulfill the lust of the Flesh! Amen!

Remember its Christ in You the Hope of Glory!

Let&#039;s go forward with God!

I can do all things through Christ!

Anyway it&#039;s a post too much to cover here.

            <description>Controversial priest returns to the pulpit

The controversial Chicago Catholic priest who was suspended for mocking then-presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton has returned to the pulpit.

The Rev. Michael Pfleger, told ABC&#039;s &amp;quot;Good Morning America&amp;quot; he doesn&#039;t apologize for being passionate or exercising free speech, but does apologize &amp;quot; when my passion or my freeness and my flawedness of character get in the way of a content which is much more important to me.&amp;quot;

Pfleger returned to his pulpit Sunday. He delivered the controversial sermon May 25 as a guest preacher at Trinity United Church of Christ, likely Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama&#039;s longtime church, which he has since left.

While Pfleger apologized for mocking Clinton and said he would no longer speak about candidates, he said he would continue to discuss politics.

In his &amp;quot;Ain&#039;t Nothing Like a Comeback&amp;quot; sermon Sunday, Pfleger told parishioners at St. Sabina&#039;s Catholic Church he would not &amp;quot;run and hide, nor allow them to cause me to &#039;play it safe&#039; or become silent.&amp;quot;

Clinton, D-N.Y., suspended her presidential bid in early June.

            <description>CONSIDER THIS!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Matt. 24 we find some of the strongest prophetic statements that Jesus made during His ministery. In verse 3 we read:

    &amp;quot;And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the diciples came unto him privately, saying , Tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be thre sign of thy coming, and the end of the world?&amp;quot;

 The significance of this text is that this conversation took place between Jesus and the diciples in private. This was His inner circle that were to spread the gosple, tell the world about His second coming, and warn the world of what will happen at that time. It also took place as a result of His statements concerning the buildings of the temple and the diciples response indicating that His statements sounded pretty important and how could they be prepared for these events.

However Christ gave them a dual prophecy concerning both the destruction of the temple in 70 AD and also His second coming. He also did something that all too often we overlook. That is he repeated Himself over and over. What was the repetition you ask? He keep telling the diciples, and us, by either direct stanement or by inference, that we don&#039;t know, we don&#039;t know, we don&#039;t know the &amp;quot;day or the hour&amp;quot; of His return. I don&#039;t believe that Jesus repeated Himself just because He didn&#039;t have anything better to say. Rather He kept repeating this fact because He was driving the point home. He also told us some of the signs to be aware of in order to know His coming was near. If Christ put this much emphasis on this subject it is clear that we should pay very close attention to what is happening in the world around us today.

Eventhough we are saved by His grace (See Titus 2:11.), He still warns us to be carefull that no one takes our salvation, our crown, from us. (See Rev. 3:11). What should perhaps be the most important warning to us today we read in Rom. 13:11:

    &amp;quot;And that, knowing the time, that now is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than we believed.&amp;quot;

I pray that this will make each of you very aware of the world around us and explain why I post current news stories in the Current Events Forum. Reading the newspapers today is like reading end-times prophecies straight from the Scriptures. May we all be ready for that glorious day.

Respectfully, your brother in Christ,

            <description>Out-of-control weather, gas prices, economy chip away at American self-confidence

06-21-2008 7:40 AM

By ALAN FRAM and EILEEN PUTMAN, Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON (Associated Press) --

Is everything spinning out of control?

Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.

Horatio Alger, twist in your grave.

The can-do, bootstrap approach embedded in the American psyche is under assault. Eroding it is a dour powerlessness that is chipping away at the country&#039;s sturdy conviction that destiny can be commanded with sheer courage and perseverance.

The sense of helplessness is even reflected in this year&#039;s presidential election. Each contender offers a sense of order _ and hope. Republican John McCain promises an experienced hand in a frightening time. Democrat Barack Obama promises bright and shiny change, and his large crowds believe his exhortation, &amp;quot;Yes, we can.&amp;quot;

Even so, a battered public seems discouraged by the onslaught of dispiriting things. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll says a barrel-scraping 17 percent of people surveyed believe the country is moving in the right direction. That is the lowest reading since the survey began in 2003.

An ABC News-Washington Post survey put that figure at 14 percent, tying the low in more than three decades of taking soundings on the national mood.

&amp;quot;It is pretty scary,&amp;quot; said Charles Truxal, 64, a retired corporate manager in Rochester, Minn. &amp;quot;People are thinking things are going to get better, and they haven&#039;t been. And then you go hide in your basement because tornadoes are coming through. If you think about things, you have very little power to make it change.&amp;quot;

Recent natural disasters around the world dwarf anything afflicting the U.S. Consider that more than 69,000 people died in the China earthquake, and that 78,000 were killed and 56,000 missing from the Myanmar cyclone.

Americans need do no more than check the weather, look in their wallets or turn on the news for their daily reality check on a world gone haywire.

Floods engulf Midwestern river towns. Is it global warming, the gradual degradation of a planet&#039;s weather that man seems powerless to stop or just a freakish late-spring deluge?

It hardly matters to those in the path. Just ask the people of New Orleans who survived Hurricane Katrina. They are living in a city where, 1,000 days after the storm, entire neighborhoods remain abandoned, a national embarrassment that evokes disbelief from visitors.

Food is becoming scarcer and more expensive on a worldwide scale, due to increased consumption in growing countries such as China and India and rising fuel costs. That can-do solution to energy needs _ turning corn into fuel _ is sapping fields of plenty once devoted to crops that people need to eat. Shortages have sparked riots. In the U.S., rice prices tripled and some stores rationed the staple.

Residents of the nation&#039;s capital and its suburbs repeatedly lose power for extended periods as mere thunderstorms rumble through. In California, leaders warn people to use less water in the unrelenting drought.

Want to get away from it all? The weak U.S. dollar makes travel abroad forbiddingly expensive. To add insult to injury, some airlines now charge to check luggage.

Want to escape on the couch? A writers&#039; strike halted favorite TV shows for half a season. The newspaper on the table may soon be a relic of the Internet age. Just as video stores are falling by the wayside as people get their movies online or in the mail.

But there&#039;s always sports, right?

The moorings seem to be coming loose here, too.

Baseball stars Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens stand accused of enhancing their heroics with drugs. Basketball referees are suspected of cheating.

Stay tuned for less than pristine tales from the drug-addled Tour de France and who knows what from the Summer Olympics.

It&#039;s not the first time Americans have felt a loss of control.

Alger, the dime-novel author whose heroes overcame adversity to gain riches and fame, played to similar anxieties when the U.S. was becoming an industrial society in the late 1800s.

American University historian Allan J. Lichtman notes that the U.S. has endured comparable periods and worse, including the economic stagflation (stagnant growth combined with inflation) and Iran hostage crisis of 1980; the dawn of the Cold War, the Korean War and the hysterical hunts for domestic Communists in the late 1940s and early 1950s; and the Depression of the 1930s.

&amp;quot;All those periods were followed by much more optimistic periods in which the American people had their confidence restored,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;quot;Of course, that doesn&#039;t mean it will happen again.&amp;quot;

Each period also was followed by a change in the party controlling the White House.

This period has seen intense interest in the presidential primaries, especially the Democrats&#039; five-month duel between Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Records were shattered by voters showing up at polling places, yearning for a voice in who will next guide the country as it confronts the uncontrollable.

Never mind that their views of their current leaders are near rock bottom, reflecting a frustration with Washington&#039;s inability to solve anything. President Bush barely gets the approval of three in 10 people, and it&#039;s even worse for the Democratic-led Congress.

Why the vulnerability? After all, this is the 21st century, not a more primitive past when little in life was assured. Surely people know how to fix problems now.

Maybe. And maybe this is what the 21st century will be about _ a great unraveling of some things long taken for granted.

Christians and atheists start a calmer dialogue

By Jane Lampman, Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor

Thu May 10, 4:00 AM ET

Wednesday night on ABC-TV, two televangelists took on nonbelievers from the Rational Response Squad in a bid to prove the existence of God (see &amp;quot;Nightline Face Off&amp;quot; on ABCNews.com).

The TV polemics come in the wake of a rash of bestselling books by atheists challenging religion. Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitchens, among others, go beyond questioning God to charge that religion is a plague that needs to be eliminated. Their vehemence, some suggest, is in response to Christian attacks on evolution and stem-cell research.

&amp;quot;It&#039;s Christian militancy that has evoked a backlash of atheist militancy,&amp;quot; says Michael Bleiweiss, a physicist and atheist from Methuen, Mass.

Amid the rising heat of this latest culture clash, though, a few people on both sides are finding calmer ways to engage, seeking to build bridges and even learn from one another. Some Christians, concerned that millions of Americans never cross the threshold of a church, want to understand why, as well as learn what it is in evangelistic efforts that turns people off. Some atheists, worried that polls show they are the least accepted social group in the country, want to break down stereotypes and change people&#039;s attitudes.

So both are willing to sit down together in different venues, discuss their divergent perspectives, and, in some cases, jointly visit church services across the United States. As a result, they are sparking a growing Christian-atheist dialogue on the Web.

At a conference in Salem, Mass., last Saturday, for example, Christians from several states listened to atheists and neopagans talk about who they are, the origin of their ethics and beliefs, and what challenges they encounter in a society that is predominantly Christian.

&amp;quot;I&#039;ve never understood treating a people group as [the enemy] because their belief system is different,&amp;quot; says Phil Wyman, pastor of The Gathering, a Salem church that sponsored the conference.

Jim Henderson, a former Evangelical pastor from Seattle who moderated the atheism discussion, has been getting an earful for some time. Frustrated at his inability to draw more people to his church, Mr. Henderson set out to learn how &amp;quot;the unchurched&amp;quot; respond to various kinds of worship services – what it is they find appealing and what leaves them cold. He began to pay nonbelievers $25 to go to a church and tell him what they thought.

&amp;quot;I also became intrigued by why evangelism bothered everybody, including me,&amp;quot; he says in an interview. &amp;quot;I decided to devote my life to reimagining evangelism ... how to do it and be &#039;normal.&#039; &amp;quot;

Soon, he got wind of an auction on eBay in which a student at the University of Illinois in Chicago proposed &amp;quot;selling my soul&amp;quot; to the highest bidder. Young atheist Hemant Mehta had been raised in Jainism, but left the faith in his teens. Mr. Mehta was curious about Christianity and whether it could provide any evidence for the existence of God. Wondering if he might be missing something, he offered to attend church with the winning bidder.

High bidder takes atheist to churchWith the top bid of $504, Henderson asked Mehta to visit 15 churches, fill out a survey on each one, and share his perspectives on Henderson&#039;s website (off-the-map.org).

The experience has changed the lives of both men. Mehta, now an honors graduate in mathematics and biology, has not converted, but the two have become friends. Mehta has started his own blog (friendlyatheist.com) and travels to speak to churches and humanist organizations. He has written a book – &amp;quot;I Sold My Soul on eBay&amp;quot; – that explains why he is an atheist and gives churches advice on what it would take to reach nonbelievers.

Henderson has gone on to pair with another atheist, Matt Casper, for further church visits across the US, and they&#039;ve written &amp;quot;Jim and Casper Go to Church.&amp;quot; Both books offer insightful, revealing, sometimes humorous critiques of what a variety of Christian services, in churches of different sizes and denominations, look like to the uninitiated.

Henderson also conducts interviews with men and women who are nonbelievers as an event at church and pastor conferences. Many Evangelicals &amp;quot;are obsessed with conversion,&amp;quot; he says, and always speak of non-Christians as &amp;quot;lost.&amp;quot; The interviews show Christians immersed in their own culture and how that sounds to the people they approach.

At the Salem conference, Mr. Bleiweiss recalled a co-worker who &amp;quot;worked Jesus into every conversation we had.&amp;quot;

Henderson&#039;s experiences have led him, with his &amp;quot;Off The Map&amp;quot; venture, into &amp;quot;something larger than evangelism,&amp;quot; what he calls &amp;quot;otherliness.&amp;quot; Otherliness – &amp;quot;the spirituality of serving others&amp;quot; – involves &amp;quot;drawing people into the idea of paying real attention to each other, of listening.&amp;quot; He wants to teach individuals and groups of all kinds how to do a much better job of listening to those they interact with.

For his part, Mehta is still open to &amp;quot;any compelling evidence of the existence of God.&amp;quot; He describes positive elements in some churches, such as top-notch speakers and impressive community outreach. &amp;quot;The more work churches do for everyone, the more respect they&#039;ll get from outsiders,&amp;quot; he writes.

Yet churchgoers are missing the mark, he says, when they think nonreligious people lack a basis for ethical values, look down on non-Christians, or fail to speak out against religious leaders who make outrageous public statements.

What would convince him? A miracle.During church services, they often fail to explain traditions or rituals, which leaves visitors confused. &amp;quot;Why is the structure of the service always the same?&amp;quot; Mehta wonders.

Zeroing in on &amp;quot;what it would take to convert me,&amp;quot; he says a church would need to appeal to his sense of reason, challenge him to think more deeply, and allow for asking questions. &amp;quot;I wasn&#039;t confronted with a new line of thinking that challenged my commitment to scientific empiricism,&amp;quot; he writes. Also, he&#039;d want a church where &amp;quot;men and women lead on an equal basis.&amp;quot;

Most important, he states, what would convince him would be &amp;quot;a miracle – an undeniable miracle that has no natural explanation.&amp;quot;

While on their tour of the most prominent megachurches and stylistically innovative churches, Mr. Casper asked Henderson, &amp;quot;Is this what Jesus told you guys to do?&amp;quot;

The 30-something father of two is generally unimpressed with the multimedia &amp;quot;killer&amp;quot; church services they attend. Articulate in explaining his reactions in detail, he, like Mehta, also finds in the predictable format of services that &amp;quot;certainty is boring, certainty is closed off.&amp;quot;

When a healing is mentioned in one Pentecostal service, though, he reacts strongly. If that man can heal, he says, &amp;quot;why is he ... hanging out in this building?... Get out there, then! There are people who need your help.&amp;quot;

Saying that he loves the teachings of Jesus, along with those of other important teachers, Casper concludes: &amp;quot;The question that just came up for me again and again ... is, What does the way Christianity is practiced today have to do with the ... words and deeds&amp;quot; of Jesus?

For Henderson, Wyman, and Mehta, the value of talking and listening to those with differing worldviews has become crystal clear.

Pastor Wyman has been reaching out to non-Christians in Salem, and particularly to the large neopagan community here (attracted, no doubt, by Salem&#039;s identification with witchcraft in Colonial times). His stereotypes about witches were often wrong, he says. Having formed respectful relationships, he&#039;s now being asked to come to pagan events to speak about Christian perspectives.

&amp;quot;Christians for quite some time have been creating events and trying to draw people into our little box, and we call that &#039;outreach,&#039; &amp;quot; he says. &amp;quot;This is an exciting opportunity – people are opening, listening, and seeking out spiritual things.&amp;quot;

            <description>Hello to All!

Here is some food for thought.

    A DECAYING WORLD

Thought Text:2 Peter 3:3

----------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re getting food that looks better, feels better, tastes better, holds together better, ages better, mixes better, spreads better, pours better—and just maybe kills us sooner.

Nutritionists are alarmed that we may be eating more and yet lacking in the very elements of diet that make for good health. The conditioning of processed food to meet the packaging test, taste test and consistency test demanded of the manufacturer, is a refined art, says one writer. “There are hardeners and softeners, foaming agents and anti-foaming agents, acidifiers and alkalizers, bleaches, coloring agents, thickeners and on and on, add nauseam . . . There are often five, ten or even more additives in a single food product. One could have a fascinating time contemplating the future as technology advances more and more. One day we may even be eating non-food food!

But the food picture is only a small part of the changing world that technology is producing. No facet of life escapes the inquisitive probes of the technologist. The belief seems to be that anything nature has done, can and should be done better. Many times, of course, the result is a delight. Who would want to trade their new limousine for a four wheel buggy? Or who would go back to the hard ruts and bogged wheels of T-model touring? Sometimes technology produces life-saving devices also that makes you want to forget the disadvantages. Seatbelts, padded dashes and so on have brought life to millions.

Yet right here we come up against another paradox. Much of modern technology is spent in countering the effects of other technology. Seat belts are needed because cars go so fast. Water-scrubbing agents counteract cleansing agents, foam wheels soak up oil spills and so on. In other words, the medicine is sometimes worse than the malady, and today we have cures for the curse of the remedy. Some time ago a magazine article appeared with a catchy title and containing more than a little truth. It was entitled “Cures that cause what ails us.”

The author told of having a five foot medicine shelf, and almost everything on it was something he had to take to get over what he’d taken for what ailed him in the first place. He went on to enumerate other instances of cures and conveniences which cause complications. He pointed out that there are air conditioners which give us pneumonia in August, vacations which produce fatigue, scratching which makes us itch, exercises to limber us up which make us stiff. Antibiotics kill weak bacteria so strong ones can get us down. Marriage counselors cause unhappy marriages, he said, by writing articles entitled, “Is Yours a Happy Marriage?” for folks who have never bothered to wonder before.

Many of the devices and gadgets designed to alleviate life’s little distresses often add to the distress. Automobiles create bumper to bumper traffic jams which make it difficult to get places. Airplanes leave you at airports far removed from your destination. Insect sprays make insects immune to insect sprays. Buy a new chair and the whole living room looks shabby. Adopt a baby and your wife has twins. Do-it-yourself, and you have to get somebody to do it over for you.

The moral of this piece was beware of too many betterments. Beauty aids too lavishly used make girls look unlovely. Hairdressers mess up hair. Shoes ruin feet. Dentists leave us eventually no teeth at all. Be careful about your personal daintiness, and you’ll find out that it is YOU that people don’t like.

Here is one answer from the Apostle Peter. He draws a parallel between the last days and the time of the flood in 2 Peter 3:3 and onward. Listen to these words that I am reading from the New English Bible: “Note this first; in the last days there will come men who scoff at religion and live self-indulgent lives, and they will say: Where now is the promise of his coming? Our fathers have been laid to rest, but still everything continues exactly as it has always been since the world began.” As these people look at the religious and moral climate of the world they may be tempted to think that things are not much worse despite all the evidence that shouts otherwise. But Peter warns, “In taking this view they lose sight of the fact that there were heavens and earth long ago, created by God’s words out of water and with water, and by water that first world was destroyed, the water of the deluge.” What about our world then? Peter continues, “And the present heavens and earth, again by God’s word, have been kept in store for burning; they are being reserved until the day of judgment when the godless will be destroyed.” How will God restore the earth? By a process of fire says Peter. “On that day the heavens will disappear with a great rushing sound, the elements will disintegrate in flames, and the earth with all that is in it will be laid bare.” Yet this destruction has a purpose. “We have his promise and look forward to new heavens and a new earth, the home of justice.”

Apollo 10 astronauts streaking for the moon report Los Angeles as a cancerous smudge. High-flying airline pilots tell us that almost every large city of North America is recognizable 70 miles away by its whisky-brown miasma of polluted air. An article in the Saturday Review contained this startling comment: “Lake Erie is dead. The beaches at Santa Barbara are deserted. The air of New York is dangerous to breathe. We are drowning in a sea of swill; in a normal year the United States ‘produces’ 142 million tons of smoke and fumes, 7 million junked cars, 20 million tons of waste paper, 48 billion used cans, and 50 trillion gallons of industrial sewage.”

Long ago the prophet Jeremiah, sometimes called the prophet of doom, looked far into the future. He told of a time coming when the earth would be deserted of life. “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light . . . I beheld, and lo there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down. Jeremiah 4:23-26.

This could well be a commentary on how man destroys the earth. Yet the Bible reminds us that the world is in God’s control. He will send His son Jesus to redeem His people and make the world new. When Christ comes He will destroy those who are destroying the earth.

I said that this is a time to have faith. Actually the only faith that can guide us into the future is a faith in God. It should not surprise us too much if our best efforts at straightening out the world we live in are only partially successful. Nor should our failures stop us from trying. But each new crisis, each new problem reminds us that the only effective solution to mankind’s problem is the Bible one. Until every man on the earth is a changed person, relating correctly to God and his other fellow earthlings, the world cannot really expect to experience perfection. But the day will come when this most improbable event will occur. Not all will submit to the changing process, but only those who do will remain to live in this purified, glorified earth.

God says He will make the earth new. Right now the best He can do is make individuals new. And He does this through Jesus Christ. Why not share what He do it for you and everyone you meet today?

Actually we shouldn’t be surprised that technology is advancing at the rate it is. And I suppose we shouldn’t be too discouraged by the side-effects, provided we learn to control them before they kill us. The world is safer and healthier, and we live longer because of the products of science and invention. In fact when the Bible looks at these last days it tells us things like this in Daniel 12:4. “Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” For the prophet the “end of time” was seen as a day of vast knowledge increase. A prediction more than fulfilled. We are told that in one day enough research papers are published to fill seven volumes of Encyclopedia Britannica.

One of the paradoxes of the Bible is that while it tells of a world decaying through violence, immorality, international stress and financial problems, it also talks of surging scientific knowledge. Yet even this knowledge is no silver-lined cloud. A picture of frustration as men run back and forth mars the glory of our record-breaking advances.

We are fortunate that various watch dog agencies are finding ways of checking the unrestricted use of additives to our food supplies. We can never be sure that they will find all the harmful ones. We may discover them too late. But at least somebody is trying.

But even greater threats hang over this earth of ours. If ever there was a time for faith in God, this is it. You may have read Jesus’s words as recorded by Luke: “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” Luke 21:6. The previous verse speaks of “distress of nations with perplexity.” Reliable sources indicate that the United States has about twenty times the atomic weapons needed to wipe out all life in Russia. And Russia had its own fantastic arsenal.

Reports from Washington told us about the president’s order to destroy stockpiled chemical biological weapons. One report said that the arsenal contained 20,000 poison bullets loaded with the botulinus bacterium. This poison is so violent that a glassful of it could wipe out most of the populace of the United States. We can breathe easier over that, but we can’t feel too relaxed because who knows how many glassfuls of this same poison are stored up in other countries.

You can begin to understand then, why the Bible says that the world is growing old like a garment. You might also see the parallel between this world we know and the world of pre-flood days. The scriptures say in Genesis chapter six that the thoughts and plans of the people of those times had only evil as their goals.

What does God do when He sees life threatened, or the knowledge of His love about to be overwhelmed? Time and again the Bible records the reaction. At all costs God is determined to preserve the human race. And He is equally determined to preserve a true knowledge of Himself.

There can be no doubt that this world is facing a great time of crisis. The real question is, what will God do about it? Will he wipe out the world as the scriptures record of the time of the flood. Will he dry clean the world removing the worst of the spots and stains as He did with Sodom and Gomorrah and many other festering sin centers?

Think about one problem-center of the present age. Quite suddenly civilization had built an ugly pollution-pile of accumulated waste. Many of them are poisonous, others simply dangerous and some just plain awkward. In some cases our mountains of garbage are literally crowding us into a corner. In some cases people are actually being poisoned by wastes. And in other cases we are being threatened by chemicals.

Six million tons of waste are being poured into the atmosphere every year. The carbon dioxide count has gone up 14 percent since 1960. In Paris, France, air-scrubbers in downtown streets are trying to purify local patches of atmosphere. But as one critic commented, a few miles away power plants are pouring out added wastes to energize the scrubbers!

Here are some statistics for the affluent lands to think about. Paul Ehrlich, the noted biologist states that each American is responsible for fifty times as much pollution and resources consumption as a person in an undeveloped country. Each affluent citizen of the United States puts as much detergent, pesticides, and radio-active substances into the rivers and seas as do a thousand Indonesians. One American puts as much carbon monoxide into the air as do 200 Pakistanis.

In June 1970 a conference of theologians in California looked at this problem and tried to map out a “theology of survival.” It seems that the topic of discussion was not “Will man survive?” but “How long will it take to kill off the planet earth?” What will God do about this?

Friends, I’m glad to tell you today the good news that God has a survival plan. Jesus Christ is coming back the second time to deliver man from his self-destroying ways and that time is very near.

May God put His loving arms around you, His Holy Angels protect you, and the Holy Spirit guide and comfort you as we travel salvation&#039;s highway to our Heavenly home.

Your brother in Christ,

            <description> Contact between men and alien races from beyond the stars has been claimed by many people since the first real wave of saucer sightings in 1947.

Canadian minister of defense Paul Hellyer,(under diefenbaker and pearson)is one of them.He claims the US goverment wants to shoot them down from moon bases and earth satelites.That is what star wars is really about.

This is just one high placed individual, there are many more goverment emplyees of all grades on the disclosier project web site who claim to have first hand knowledge of this too.

Foriegn goverments have also admitted to contacts of many kinds with UFOs,and underwater objects that can definately be ruled out as anything earthly.

This has been going on for over fifty years ,when are the facts going to be made know to the public about these things.?

If we have truely already made any treaty or agreement with other species,then the people have a right to know what that may be.As well as a right to approve of it.

It is rumoured some 38 separate species of humnoids are cirrently involved in contacts with us of several types.These are listed and can be found described after a brief search of the net.The vast amount of hard data that has been generated in evidence of UFOs is overwhelming.Radar sightings pilot sightings and cross verified sightings where radar pilots and ground observers all concurr as to what was seen.Whole countries have co-operated to observe and track triangular ufos in the 90s.(belgium)germay,Holland,etc.

The sightings of ufos in Iran,are getting more frequent as they approach nuclear armaments .(they could be drones, but not all of them could,as they are very much beyond our capability to produce.)

The gist of this thread is to get some comment from christian thinkers as to what these things mean to us.Do they get taken seriously?is it ok for a christian to study this phenomina without fear of reprisals from other christians?

Or is this a taboo subject for believers?one that will lead us astray from truth and down to the very gates of the pit?

Can a christian safely contemplate that God could have and very likely did create other life than here on earth?

Or is this concept too much for our egos?Must we be the only inhabitants of the whole universe?besides the angels and other spiritual beings?

Is there any chance at allthere could be other races that our God has created?

When i look at the earth, i see many separate races of humans.and when i think of the universe,i cant help but expect that there must be myriad others out there......

Is this an evil thought?should i purge my mind of such speculation and concentrate on bible study instead?any thoughts?

Are the space men real?is there anychance that God just hasnt gotten around to mentioning them till we learn not to kill his children out of hand?just curious.dont get your ecclesiastics in a tangle over it...........but what do you think?

I wonder if anyone realises that several native and aborigine ledgends include star people in their histories?

            <description>Many forms of exorcism have been practiced by the Church from her

beginning. In preparation for baptism, catechumens receive minor

exorcisms whereby the Church prays that they be freed from sin and

the influence of the evil one. Likewise, the Liturgy of Baptism

itself includes a renunciation of Satan and all his works and the

Rite for the Baptism of Children includes a prayer of exorcism which

asks God to set the children free from original sin and makes them

temples of God&#039;s glory, sending the Holy Spirit to dwell within

them. These rites recall that through the waters of Baptism all may

participate in the victory of Christ over sin, the devil and his

darkness.

Even those reborn in Christ, however, experience temptation and must

be vigilant in prayer and sobriety of life. At Holycentral.com, we

strive to be your total Christian resource center. With topics which

range from lives of the saints yesterday and today, to modern day

miracles and prophecy in todays news, you will find it here! Please

feel free to post in our Exciting Forums!! Prayer requests will be

answered daily. Also with a special emphasis on deliverance,

exorcisim, and spiritual attacks, you will find us a valuable site

for todays hectic Christian believers

            <description> Few indeed I have met in these days that do not think that the next few years are going to be anything but tumultuous.

The forecast looks like a constant scenario of war after war,over oil water and food.The world is a very uanstable and treacherous place for nations as well as the people who make them up.

The time has indeed come when nation rises against nation it seems.The reasons for fighting are ever more clear cut each passing day.The reasons for peaceful co existance blurring and disappearing in the thirst for energy,water and food for starving masses.In Africa,Bosnia,and places like Indonesia and South America brother against brother in the battle of ideologies and religions.

The future of international relations looks more to me one of increasing conflicts and less one of trade and commerce treaty.

The revelation of John and the book of Daniel with a few other specific prophecy are the only handle we have on this future of uncertainty that looms ahead.

It is with some trepidation we can well look to what is next on the horizon, and it is only our faith that is going to see us through......

If as they say, our peak oil production is already past then the next 20-30 years will pretty much wind down our remaining supply,as the demand for oil is and will continue to grow none the less.

Without adaquate energy to continue in the extravagant way which the 20th century afforded us,we will be facing an eventual collapse of the system as we know it.or knew it to be exact.

I am thinking now of how bible prophecy compares to this scenario in terms of a constant hunger for energy supplies and a drastic shortage of it.

Food stuffs which sustain us today were produced with considerable expenditure of energy in the form of diesel fuel as well as hydroelectric power to process it. and still more diesel to deliver it to our locations.

As the cost of the energy increases the less we will be able to sustain our energy expensive methods of mass prodiucing and growing food stuffs.

It is the same for services of many kinds as well as petroleum products that we dont really know are from petroleum yet becuse they are still in good supply.

We face a totally altered world structure within three to four decades of time. this is comparable to the change in the world that the last fifty years of technological change has made.

With the very foundation of our economy and life style now in short supply,we will face many new situations where the old answers just will not do and are far too energy expensive to be of value in the new oil poor economy.Old methods and old answers will bejust too expensive to solve the needs and wants of our people.

If we are going to think of the end times prophecy comming to pass in the same aproximate world power structure with no rdical shift in the way the future is playing out.we are going to be woefully out of whack in preparedness for what is about to happen to the world in reality.

I think most of us see a modicum of discomfort in our future but the scope and the depth of the possibilities are very far reaching and far more radical than what most expect .

Many count specifically on being raptured out of this plane of existance before the wrath of Jehovah is felt upon the earth.

And this may be so as well, but in lieu of a rapture in the near future,i think it is wise to at least try to contemplate what the next thirty years can bring to us in the way of stormy weather.

I have always tried to understand how we are drifting into the world situation described in the revelation. what was causing us to become more ad more like the people described therein.

How the one world could be comming about and the things that were working to emphasize that end.

With an energy hungry world,i am sure that anyone comming who could show us how to produce energy in large quantities cheaply(not even safely)could become super influencial.almost a savior to us if the situation were extreme,and the shortage critical to our survival.

The world doesnt have to go through a great upheaval to loose third of its people,one great shortage of farm fuel could kill off a billion or two in a couple of seasons.

The seriousness of the oil situation should not be lost on us at this time.Nations will do whatever their leaders tell them it is nessessary to do in order to procure a supply of this vital stuff.An army of 200,000,000 is not out of the question when they are starving at home.

Just how prophecy will actually come to pass is still a matter of conjecture and nothing is hard and fast save that the prophecy will most certainly come to pass.the question is just how it all will come out against the world situation.

What i am suggesting is the situation will not be going to happen with all things being equal to today.

Perhaps it is time to rethink the ways in which the Lord will move us in order that his word be fullfilled.

I dont think we are wholly ready for the reality of a world without cheap abundant energy.and how much different it will be. Perhaps when we are reading the rev, and other stcripture we should try to picture what is being described against this backdrop of the new energy hungry world that will emerge for the oil crisis that is developing even now.If you beliecve that the price of gas will go down again,to previous levels,then you are way off.The world energy price increases are permanent as the demand grows for an ever shrinking supply.The price will only rise from here on out.Perhaps this is what is going to make the merchants weep.We will only be able to afford energy and not the extras.hurt not the oil and the wine.......</description>
