It is because of a lack of studying the Bible that God has warned us...."satan, which deceives the 'whole' world", (Revelation 12:9).
Jesus Christ won each battle with satan, simply because of relying on scripture alone !

Yes God's people are destroyed from a "lack of knowledge" Hos. 4:6
Knowledge is our greatest weapon.
But still, without the salvation given us through the blood of Jesus, all our knowledge is useless
[color blue]It takes knowledge, to understand how the process works.
For example: Psalms 19:7 "The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD NO MATCH FOR is,
In other words, without God's Law, the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:3-17)....How is anyone converted ?

Nobody should "go after you" for not "knowing" anything, just acting like you do know evrything. If I may be so adventurous as to reference the Zen folks, the most inportant thing to try and maintain is a beginners mind, regardless of others opinion of your accomplishments. Jump in, and if somebody busts on you instead of offering a different perspective with a respectable attitude just ignore them. I'm sure there are those that will say something like "Well, you're the one to talk!" I will maintain that the ones I have taken a direct and sarcastic tone with were posting some stuff that begged for such a response. Have fun, and let iron sharpen iron.

If Satan can only deceive those who know not their bible completely, what do you say to those who have no bible, can't read, have no access to christian programming etc? I am not minimizing the importance of reading the Word. But I think we need to consider what knowledge is and where does it come from. Many people have a lot of head knowledge, but no life comes out of their words to pierce the heart towards God. Others have Life IN them and God gives them a word within their being and it slays the hearers. As was said, people perish for lack of knowledge as the Word says. The knowledge is the knowledge of God that He imparts INTO you by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not just based on your natural abilitites to read and understand. We must learn by the Holy Spirit the difference between natural and spiritual knowledge, man's wisdom and God's wisdom, earthly and heavenly knowledge. These are different matters and only God can teach us the difference. Does not the Word say when the Holy Spirit is come He will tezch you all things??? Ask, and it shall be given you.
We need to also keep in mind that before we go to war, we must be prepared. A good soldier knows his enemy.
This fact is, the greatest need of the modern day Christian !!!
satan has captured the Christian world at large, simply because the modern day Christian, has failed, to study their Bible !
Case in point....
Revelation 12:17 "And the dragon (satan) was wroth (Angry !) with the woman (true church), and went to make [WAR] with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ".
God says that it is the duty of man (Mankind) to keep His Commandments (Eccel. 12:13,14)...as that is the standard, to be used, on the Judgment Day of God, as also mentioned in James 2:10-12.
Satan has managed to replace God's holy Sabbath day (4th commandment) with Sunday, as Bible prophecy said he would attempt, (Daniel 7:25....'think to change times and laws').
How few people in the Christian world understand that it (Sunday) is satans' appointed day of worship, in disobedience to what God has said to do.
God said: "REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy".
Satan says: NO! I will set up a day of my own choosing, and get people to worship me, on that day.
OH, How well does satan understand Romans 6:16.... Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness ?

Ok, don't think I'm disputing the Word here, but I'm getting that we're to worship on Saturday? (Just trying to make sure that's what I'm getting, as I'm not saying you're wrong, espeically with reference to what God has said about this!!)
It come down to the test of loyalty, really.
As it is written: "Know yo not to whom you obey his servants you are to whom you obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto Righteousness", (Romans 6:16).

One other thing people need to remember in doing spiritual warfare is PATIENCE. We have to stop expecting to get results in just one prayer session. We have to put aside our microwave mentality. Mark 9 tells the story of a demon possessed boy that the apostles couldn't exorcise.
They asked Jesus why they couldn't get it done. He said "it is because you have so little faith (patience). This kind comes out only with prayer and fasting."

Dahlia47,
You wrote, "As was said, people perish for lack of knowledge as the Word says. The knowledge is the knowledge of God that He imparts INTO you by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not just based on your natural abilitites to read and understand."
Actually, the Word says knowledge of him is imparted by hearing or reading, ie, using our natural semses.
Romans 10: 12-15, " For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! "
You also wrote, "Does not the Word say when the Holy Spirit is come He will teach you all things???" Ask yourself, who did Christ say this to and when did he say it?

Folks, COME ON now, the answers lie within the Armour of God.
we cant fight, if we arent SURE(strong)
we cant fight, if we only have some--of the armour of warfare
we cant fight, if we think its against flesh and blood
we cant fight, if we arent ready to wear it all
we cant fight, if all we have is a breastplate(LOOK AT ME I AM SAVED)
we cant fight, if all we have are boots proclaiming the Gospel, but no building up
we cant fight, if all we have is a shield(I have faith--no works)
we cant fight, if all we have is a helmet(I know the bible)
we cant fight, if all we have is a sword(heres what the bible says)
we cant fight, with prayer alone, giving no practical use for the armour God has equipped us.
WE NEED THEM ALL--AND HERE THEY ARE.
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

After the Gospels (which were prior to Christ's fulfilling), the only mention of Sabbath is regarding the Jews that they (Disciples) were trying to convert to Christianity. The Apostles did not teach that observing the day of rest (the Sabbath) was necessary to salvation, quite the contrary:
Col 2:8-17
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. (KJV)
As I have stated before,Christ became our Sabbath,and when satan comes to this earth pretending to be Christ,I dont care which day you worship on,if you do not as redsox said,have on the full armour, you will be deceived,period.

thats only partially right, Daredevil...
satans attacks are on the Name of Jesus, and the "beauty of the BRIDE"
what I mean by beauty is, the witness of Light we are to give in pure truth.
he attacks beleivers, cause the temptations lead to us "falling", and being looked on as hypocritical.
he doesnt need to attack unbeleivers, they are already lost.
but "heaven" forbid they "ask or need" a "favor from" him..

A couple of points:
Galations 3:21-25 "Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. (22) But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. (23) Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, looked up until faith should be revealed. (24) So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. (25) Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law."
Also read Galations 3. (2)"...did you receive the Spirit by observing the law or by believing what you heard?" (5) "Does God give you His Spirit and work miracles among you because you observed the law, or because you believe what you heard?" (10) "All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law. (11) Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, the righteous will liev by faith." (12) The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, the man who does these things will live by them. (13) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."
Does this mean that we arn't to follow the 10 commandments? No, of course not, but we, being justified, want to obey those commandments for a healthy fear of offending God. But I have been getting from some of the posts, that the belief is that you are saved by following the 10 commandments, unless I have been misreading.
Second: Colossians 2:16 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day."
The Sabbath is commanded that we rest, honor God and fellowship with others. Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but Sunday is my least restful day. I am involved in worship ministry at church and we are busy busy busy. My family rests on other days, read together and worship quietly. We are honoring God and thanking Him for His blessings and His deliverence of us.
We need to stop devouring each other with divisions, discord and anger. We accomplish nothing, other than allow the enemy to establish a foothold and he wins. We need to be in agreement with the absolute core truths of the Bible. We misinterpret, have our human opinions, me included, and I'm not above being corrected, provided you can show me biblical references. I know that people can twist these references into their own ideas to support a pet theory but we need to be sure these are revealed by the Holy Spirit, not just something you want it to be.
Be blessed.
With love in Christ,
Ellen

Two points I'd like to make:
First - Satan has memorized the entire Bible. We must be familiar with The Word to fend off the darts he throws at us.
Second - Keep a proper attitude toward Satan. C. S. Lewis wrote in the Screwtape Letters that there are two things the demons relish: people not believing in their existence and people obsessing over their existence. Don't give him too much attention.
