starting w/ the kids

starting w/ the kids
My pastor just left town the other day to spend time with his grandkids before they moved to Tennessee, from Florida. When he left another pastor preached, and he talked about the ways Satan uses us to pull our own Church down. He said the way Satan works now is to start with the kids and then he gets them early. Sometimes before the parents are saved, so he can destroy the whole family then. If you stop and think about it, look at how much of our culture is geared towards kids, and specifically teens. Even in AWANAs, they are showing us that by the age of 13, a child makes the decision about where they stand with faith. After that, salvation experiences go down to about 4% until the age of 18. That's really low, and we shouldn't let it stay that way.

Yes, this is very true. There is a wonderful teaching series on how we can train up our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. You can download the set from your computer for free or order cassettes. All sermons offered free to all by the freewill offerings of God's people. You can find the set here:

Well of course it starts with children. (I'n not saying Jesus does this) But children are impressionable, and very easy to brainwash. Look at the Hitler Youth.

If you dont want your children to walk away from God DONT leave the teaching up to just the Church we as parents need to teach God in our homes also.

Exactly! The Bible speaks of training a young man (in his early years) up the way he should go and he will follow it all his life (see Proverbs).

Yes, it is! If we don't start in the home, with ourselves and our families, then there's nothing to build on....
