Witnessing Tips
Every day presents a new opportunity to share the love of Jesus with someone. Here are a few ideas and examples:

1. When someone asks “How are you,” share something positive and uplifting, including the Lord in your reply. Examples: “I am doing well, thank the Lord.” “I am blessed and highly favored.” “Jesus is taking very good care of me, thanks.” “Doing well… the Lord keeps me going every day.”

2. In casual conversations, share something that the Lord has done for you lately. Example: If someone is talking about the economy, interject, “Yes, things are tough and I am so glad that the Lord is my provider. Everything right now seems so unstable, but it is comforting to have Jesus is in my life to help me each day.” (then share how He has helped you)

3. Speak kind words to store cashiers, waitresses, etc., especially if you notice that they are having a rough day. Example: “I notice that the store/restaurant is very busy today. I’ll pray for Jesus to give you strength to make it through your shift.”

4. End every interaction with someone with a blessing. Example: “It was great to talk to you. Have a blessed day in the Lord.” “Thanks for your help. May God bless you.”

5. Include a blessing on your recorded voice mail greeting. Example: “I’m sorry I was unable to take your call. Please leave a message and I’ll return your call as soon as I can. May God bless you in the name of Jesus.”

6. Leave a tract or scripture card at your table when leaving a restaurant. Include your email address so that the person who picks it up can contact you if they have questions or need prayer.

7. Pray for an unsaved relative or friend, and then send that person an email or postcard to let them know that you are praying for them.

8. Adopt a leader to pray for. Whether it is a political leader, CEO of a major corporation, a school principal, a store manager, etc., pray regularly for that person and send them a card or note each month to let them know they are in your prayers. In your first contact with them, introduce yourself and tell them that God has placed them on your heart to pray for them regularly. (“Adopt a Leader” kits are offered by the National Day of Prayer Task Force and are available for only $10 each at http://www.adoptaleader.org/home/index.cfm?flash=1)

9. Be sure to use the name of Jesus as often as you can in your witnessing, not simply “God,” because many people refer to any higher power as God. Remember, it is through Jesus Christ alone that the lost are saved. “Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, NIV)

May the Lord richly bless you in your efforts to build the Kingdom of God!
