Prayer Needed NOW...

Prayer Needed NOW...
I just received a phone call from my friend, M7thProphet, Jim, who had a heart attack yesterday. I know he wants to go be with the Lord and with Deb, but I need him here! Please Jesus have mercy on him one more time and heal him one more time to stay with us as long as Praize is here. I can't do this without him and his prayers and his encouragement. Father, he has been with me all the way. Please don't take him now. Please keep him here Lord. Get him well and get him home. Praize needs him, Lord. Thank you that you always hear and answer my prayers. In Jesus' Name amen.
Blessings ~ Sarah

I want to share also that Chris, Rdrcofe, is also undergoing some medical issues. So our two main posters are off line right now.

So I spoke with my Father this morning and told Him that I could not do run this site without Jim and Chris, and if He wants it to continue, He needs to heal my friends! So... I expect to see some rapid results to their medical reports. We have a good thing going here and I hope to see it continue. But we can't survive without posters. So hopefully Abba has already sent angels to my brothers and they will be back here soon.

Like Sarah, I am hoping that my friend, Chris, is improving and will return to full health. My thoughts and good wishes go out to him and to his wife, Christine.

Hi Sarah.

How is our friend, Jim? Say it is good news and he is out of the hospital and recovering with care.

Hi, Jeanne,
I apologize for not following up on this. Yes, Jim is home and I just noticed that he is on line. So we should be hearing from him soon. I am grateful that Abba heard our prayers and answered them for both Jim and Chris.

It should be an interesting next five years for Praize and our supporters. We will take all the prayers and "good wishes" that we can get.
Blessings ~ Sarah

Hi Sarah.

That is good news! SmileSmile

What is special or different about the next five years?

We will all be five years older, hopefully. It will be 2023. I will have more grandchildren, hopefully. The internet will still be available.

You will have aged in reverse and be five years younger! Laugh. That should be an option!

I must have missed something about the time frame. Clue me in, please?

Hi Jim.

So good to hear from you! I am sure you are witnessing to any who will listen. You are a good man, whose own spirit is filled with your faith, so how could you do else, but continue to share what is most dear to you.

Maybe some would think this an odd comment coming from an atheist, but my lack of belief does not keep me from recognizing goodness in a person, nor the importance of their faith in their belief, the sharing of which springs from their own goodwill to others.

I am hoping for a positive outcome from your new cardiologists.

Hugs and love.

Hi, Jim!
I have to comment on Jeanne's post to say that it is not your goodness she sees in you. For in you dwells no good thing! I say that with absolutely NO disrespect to you! Thank You, Jesus, for Your goodness that you have made a way for Your children to carry.

I have line dance tomorrow morning, so call me tomorrow afternoon. Our Lord is good and a stronghold in the day of trouble! In the meantime, I continue to pray...

I on the other hand have nothing of good inside me and that is the unfortunate way that me and mine will stay until our bodies die and we go to our just rewards in hell to burn forever.

Is that right, Sarah?

Thanks.

jeanne53: Hi

You on the other hand are made in the image and likeness of God but are integrally part of a world at enmity with Him by varying degrees. Your conscience is made in the image and likeness of God too, and you can heed it or not because God allows you the freedom of choice. The choices you make, according to conscience are evaluated by God and will either excuse or condemn you, according to God's true judgment, which knows all, makes allowances for all and weighs the intents of each human heart. Ps.44:20-21.

What is good, is good and it is sinful to declare goodness, evil. Anyone declaring that you have 'no good within you', is coming dangerously close to offending God who is the only one capable of discerning that as an objective fact.

Sarah was quoting St Paul, when he said of himself, "there is no good thing in me, (meaning in his frail human will)". He certainly did not mean that all goodness 'in him' was evil, implying all others were too. He was claiming that any good that was in him was attributable to the spirit of God, whenever he allowed God to motivate him to 'do the right thing'. He was essentially saying he felt that his ungodly actions were entirely his own responsibility, not God's or anyone else's.

The main point of Paul's statement seems aimed at convincing us that no matter how 'good' we might think ourselves to be, we have no reason to boast or condemn others, who we claim are less good than ourselves. As far as God is concerned we are all performing, not too well, on a very level playing field. There is absolutely no moral advantage to any of us, whatever half of full time we are playing the game in, but there is considerable difference in individual playing skills.

We should leave off boasting or making comparisons until we all know the final score. God is keeping perfect count.

Regards Chris.

Hi Chris.

Sarah, Paul and you are essentially saying the same thing; that any good in human beings comes from the Christian conception of their Creator Deity; human beings as "merely" evolved primates have no possible way of being good or evil unless they are influenced by some supernatural entity.

It is okay. I should be more used to this by now.

jeanne53: Hi

human beings as "merely" evolved primates have no possible way of being good or evil unless they are influenced by some supernatural entity.

Or perhaps 'evolved primates' have identified behaviors that are widely regarded as either 'good' or 'bad' in terms of what is 'good' or 'bad' for human beings and the rest of creation.

If ALL human behaviour is to be considered 'acceptable behavior' for human beings, where does that leave us socially?

in your non deity universe, who decides what is 'acceptable human behavior' and why?

The main point St Paul was trying to get across was that individual human beings should not have the freedom to decide for themselves, 'what is good behavior' and 'what is evil behavior'. That would be a recipe for domination by psychopaths, sociopaths and tyrants.

A deity, for you, could merely be a convenient way of setting a standard for ethical behavior, which is reasonably acceptable by the majority of humankind. That is after all what 'God's Law' is usually about, isn't it? What has been set down traditionally by tribes and nations as being normally acceptable human behavior.

None of the Ten Commandments are complete innovations which came down from God on Mt Sinai, never having been conceived by human beings ever before.

Adultery was taboo long before Moses got the tablets of the law. Murder was punishable by death previously. (Moses was in fact himself a fugitive murderer) and Joseph was accused of adultery with Potiphar's wife. Stealing, lying, and disrespect for parents ALL were already regarded as 'antisocial behaviors', frowned upon by humane societies.

I would go as far as to say that the only commandment that was relatively unique and innovative was "You shall love The Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve", and even that one had been established beforehand in Egypt under Pharaoh Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV, 1364-1347 B.C.)

The problem with having human beings make up their own moral code, is that we would all come up with one that would suit US, but not everybody else.

This is what the story of Adam and Eve reveals. That human beings, once having taken upon themselves the right to decide 'what is good and what is evil', will never agree among themselves about what ACTUALLY IS good and evil in any objective sense. It is always relative to their own opinion.

Which I think is about where you are standing right now. Your standard of behavior is what you have decided for yourself to be appropriate, both for yourself and for others.

That is an almost universally human way of regulating one's own morality, while being observant of social norms and the behavior of others.

Christians, on the other hand, put the teachings of Jesus Christ high on their list of 'things to do', 'or not to do'.

Belief in a supernatural being is optional. Ethical behavior is a moral requirement for all human beings if they are to have fullness of life. Anything less is detrimental to human happiness and progress.

Regards Chris.

This has become interesting, but let us take it to Atheist debate.

I am just going to copy and paste it over there in a new topic, so Prayer Requests can continue undisturbed.

Thanks, Jeanne. Good idea.

I talked to m7thprophet this morning and he is doing well. He is planning on moving his residence in order to take better care of his heart, so that is good, and I am believing he will be with us for a long time to come. Continued prayers would be appreciated.

That's good, Sarah.

Tell him to do the cardiac therapy that is suggested. it is highly recommended by heart attack survivors with whom I have spoken over the years.
