What is gone wrong with the world?
An actual incident:

Who do Praize Members think holds at least some responsibility for the death of the person completely innocent of the fictitious crime he was wrongfully accused of.

Hello Chris,
It all began with Adam's sin and has continued throughout human history. By the time Noah built the ark, we are told that, "...GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." (Gen. 6:5) We are living in the "perilous times" spoken of in 2 Tim. 3:1. Evil will increase as the time for the rapture of the church draws closer. The entire Earth will be filled with violence. When this man reached to his hip, he was shot. Isn't it possible that the officer who fired his weapon thought he was going for a gun?
You should see it right where you live. Note the following Statistics:

From the years 2015/16 to 2016/17, homicides in London rose by 27.1 per cent. Youth homicide jumped 70 per cent. Serious youth violence was up 19 per cent. Robbery was up 33.4 per cent, while home burglaries rose by 18.7 per cent.
Theft went up by over 10,000 incidents in a year, up 33.9 per cent, and there were more than 4,000 additional knife crime incidents under Khan than under his predecessor, a rise of 31.3 per cent.
Rape in the capital rose by 18.3 per cent, while there were 2,551 incidents of gun crime, representing a rise of 16.3 per cent on the previous year.
The Mayor has continuously blamed central government “police cuts” for the problems faced, but statistics reveal London only lost around 1,000 police officers (3 per cent) in the past year, reducing the workforce from 31,343 to 30,379.
The report compares November to October data from the years 2015/16 and 2016/17.
Earlier this year London overtook New York City as one of the most dangerous capital cities in the Western world.

My understanding is that there are 'no go' zones in the UK where tourists are warned not to visit and even the police refuse to go into after a certain time of night.

Lets face it. We are living in the last days of the Earth as we know it. Unless God intervenes, humanity will destroy itself.

Blessings to you,
Allen

Earlier this year London overtook New York City as one of the most dangerous capital cities in the Western world.

That sounds very bad, doesn't it, but there are some facts missing that make me question that assumption as being perhaps misleading.

New York City isn't the capital of anything, not even the state of New York (that's Albany), and second, New York City crime statistics have been steadily falling for 10 years or more, and the city really isn't that dangerous a place any more.

It is more a case of New York City, (of approximately equal population to London), having become a relatively safer place due to a progressive and systematic approach to policing, while London, a capitol city having rising crime rates due to cuts in police numbers imposed by central government, and less effective approach to policing the 'problem' communities.

Haven't time right now to go further into why these statistics, though probably accurate, are misleading in the impression that readers go away with. Anyone would think that London is descending into total anarchy, whereas New York previous to 10 years ago was statistically having at least 5 times the number of homicides as London is now. 2000 a year as opposed to about 450.

Regards Chris.

Hello again Chris.
I didn't pay any attention to the use of the word capital. Dictionary.com carries a warning about confusing it with the word capitol. It says, "The noun capital 1refers to a city or town that is the seat of government; to a capital letter as opposed to a lowercase letter; and to wealth or resources. The noun Capitol refers primarily to the building in Washington, D.C., in which Congress sits or to similar buildings used by state legislatures."
The important thing to me was the increase in crime in London, Perhaps it would be better for you to look at a source I know you trust.
The Telegraph reports the same kind of increase in London and ties it in with the increase of immigrants coming into the country. You can read the full report at the following link:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/12112024/Violent-crime-jumps-27-in-new-figures.html
Even if the crime rate in New York has decreased, the stats in London have gone up. Are you familiar with the 'no go' zones in the UK? Even here in Jacksonville, Florida, there are sections of the city I avoid. I live in a fairly decent neighborhood but, it isn't unusual to hear gunshots close by. While Miami has the highest crime rate overall, Jacksonville is the murder 'capital' of the state.
Take care Chris and,God bless,
Allen

ASCombs2662: Hi Allen

The major facts, I agree, are not that New York is not a capital city of anywhere at all, it is that New York is roughly similar in size to London. The crime rate HAS increased in recent years in London and decreased in the last decade in New York, which surely tells us something, I agree.

New York's 'angel' is doing it's job better than London's 'angel' is obviously. London's 'angel' is less in alignment with God's will than is New York's currently, it would seem.

We may try to simplistically attribute the rise in London's disorder to 'populist' causes, such as immigration, socialism, poverty, corruption and 'foreign criminal gangs', but that just diverts attention from the real reason for the 'rot at the core'.

The real reason is 'spiritual' and always has been. Whenever a city is clearly seen as having become more unpleasant to live in it is because 'the powers that be' are out of alignment with the will of God. By 'powers' I imply that the problem starts at the top, where 'power' is exercised. No matter what the political set up may be in any size of community, if the leadership of that community are substantially, spiritually bankrupt in God's estimation, then their community will take its example increasingly from them and not from God.

Hence we have the Old Testament prophet's messages to Israel and Judah on exactly those socially degenerating effects and their root cause.

The remedy is never wholly 'political', it is always primarily 'moral reformation' that is necessary to achieve a 'Just Society'.

Regards Chris.

Quote:

These are the crime figures for London for the period April 2015 to March 2016

• Possession of weapons + 24%
• Public Order + 12%
• Violence against the person + 10%
• Sexual offences + 10%
• Shoplifting + 10%
• Vehicle offences + 9%
• Criminal Damage & Arson + 4%
• Bicycle theft + 4%
• Theft offences + 2%
• Theft from the person + 2%
• Miscellaneous crimes against society +1%

There was no increase in robbery during this period.

Offences which decreased during this period were

• Burglary (domestic & non-domestic) - 2%
• Drug offences - 2%
• All other theft offences - 3%

The figures for all murders within the area served by the Metropolitan Police - that is Greater London were 109 homicides in 2015-16 and 110 in 2016-2017. To contrast a place of comparable size in the US, In New York City in 2016 there were 335 homicides.

The Met releases exhaustive figures which can be accessed from their website.

Giving percentage increases for things like crime statistics is not a good way to look at the incidence of crime: for example, if I live in a small city and there is 1 murder in 2015 but 2 in 2016 then the increase in the murder rate will be 100% - but that doesn't make the place the murder capital of the world.

The fact is that there are people in the US who, for some peculiar reason, seem to think that London is a crime-ridden hell-hole; it should be noted that they have been battering on in this vein only since London gained its first Muslim mayor - I leave you to draw your own conclusions. I must admit that I made one mistake. It is Sweden that is full of no go zones and in which the police refuse to patrol those areas after 10 P.M.

Let me also add a story.

Last night, my wife and I were watching TV and we heard 3 gunshots outside our bedroom window. We live in an area that supposedly is relatively safe. There is an elementary school next door. The shots weren't fired inside our yard but were close enough to be right across the street. I never saw or heard a police car outside and don't know who was shooting or why.

I do know that I lock my doors at night and plan to get a shotgun to keep close by just in case I need to defend my family.

God bless,
Allen

Bottom line; move your hands to your waist when police are holding guns on you and you are going to get shot. You point a gun at police and you are going to get shot. Neither situation gets a second chance.

Stupid prank. Stupid people. Bad situation.

I feel the same way Jeanne. That man should never have made the move he did. The police followed the correct procedures.
