standingfirm :

I love Bible Plans. There is no better way to find your way round the scriptures than by reading them. Preferable all of them, more than once or twice.

Different people find different plans suit their individual reading habits better or not as the case may be. Although I have read the Bible through once or twice, I prefer reading a book at a time, not necessarily in order.

For instance, one might start with Marks Gospel, (about an hour and a half for an average reader). The Book of Jonah and Book of Ruth, (about an hour each). Minor Prophets , (most between half an hour and two hours). Paul's and others letters, (about an hour each on average but some much shorter).

God speed with your reading plan. You will find by the end of it that few people will be able to claim something is in the Bible when it is actually not, you will know what is there because you have actually read it yourself.

There is no substitute for personal knowledge.

Regards Chris.

Don't speak negatively! Remember, you have what you say! If you don't already know that, you will come to it in your reading. lol The words you speak go out and you can't get them back. I BELIEVE in you! I BELIEVE that you will not get behind where you already are. If you lose those two extra days now, what will happen if you get sick or have a family emergency? NO! Do not lose those two days while you are preparing for preaching. Abba can give you the extra time you need to read His Word. Just ask Him for it. I am holding up your arms!

Glory to God! Keep reading and keep posting here. If you notice, others are following you. Why not mark off the days on your calendar. It will become more and more exciting as you accomplish this.

I am very interested in the number of guests that are following you on this. :)
While it is not Praize's purpose to send people off the site, perhaps some of our guests are not able to obtain a Bible. Therefore, I want them to know that they can go to www.biblegateway.com and read the Bible along with you. I know that they would already be several days behind, but they can start today with Exodus and read Genesis at the end. I know that is not ideal, but even without reading Genesis, it would be a great accomplishment and a great learning experience.

I only wish I had thought of it sooner. :(

Mike, I was SOOOOOOOO impressed with your synopsis. It brought things to life for me again that I hadn't thought about for a while. It was interesting that you said we are in His image, but not His likeness. You made that so clear! Just know that as you are blessing me, I believe you are blessing the others that are following you. Be encouraged, Abba's "assignment" to you to do this reading and reporting is for many more than just you.

I think in Ephesians you will find the image and likeness are what we become subsequent to the infilling of the Spirit. In Romans 8 Paul goes to great detail to illustrate this. We can become what we have an expectation for in Jesus. Jesus said in the book of John that He is in the father and the father in him the 3 dwell in one and make their habitation in us. The key being that the Holy Spirit in us has a purpose to create (Ephesians 2) us in the image and likeness of him. The writer said this same Spirit that raised Christ raises us to his image and likeness.
In the 19th and early 20 th Centuries we had men who would not let go of the throne and Jesus until they were made into the revelation of all that Jesus is. It is not us,it never could be any thing but the fulness and freedom of the Holy Spirit working in us to establish his will and purpose.
