If I can't have children here on earth, will that be my reward in Heaven?

Someone told me that seeing as I can't have children here on earth, that I will have children in Heaven. Is that true?
Do you think that will be my reward?

Dear angelicprincess: I have been a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ for more than 60 years and I have never found a scripture that addresses this subject. We have a tendency to apply human knowledge to the things of eternity and romanticize it. This is not fair to us as life in eternity will probably totally different than the life we know on this earth. I do know there will be no more tears, no pain, no sickness, no death and there will be total joy. As to your question there is really no answer. May God richly bless you.

Matthew, Mark, and Luke...all quoted Jesus on the topic of 'marriage' in heaven....and unanimously declared that He said there IS NO marriage there. Given that (at least on earth, and presumably there too) God's consistent order is for conception to occur within marriage, we can surmise that we will not have progeny there.

I agree with chaplainbob...in that for a number of years now...I've said that I suspect that EACH one of us....will undergo a dramatic shift in our 'theology'....one microsecond after 'passing over'....which is to say, that we have very little knowledge of just what that state is like, what we'll be like, except that it's supposed to be better than here.

As well, many here on earth...haven't exactly found parentage/children to be quite the 'blessing' it's been touted as being....so I suspect that God will have much better things for us.Smile
Blessings,
Smile

I hope you have found a ministry with needy children here on earth. There are SO many that need to feel "mother's love" that never get it. You would be a wonderful fill-in for their earthly mom. I know this does not quite apply to your topic, so I will make it short. :)

Remember SOMETHING
PARENTHOOD IS NOT NECESSARYILY BIOLOGICAL!!! It is more from the heart and what you implant from your spirit. When we minister in cross cultural churches it is not uncommon for me to see Deb my wife sitting in the back with 15-20 children all around her with another 3-5 on her lap. She is a grandmother and each of the children know her as that.

Shortly before he was murdered a Pakistani pastor ask me to adopt his son (16) because he feared the Taliban would take him and because of the murder it never happened. until his death the boy wrote me regularly as Papa___grandfather.
Biologically you may not be able to be a parent -but biology is not the sole factor of parenting.

Angelicprincess, I know that these posts do not address your topic. I know no one who wants to hurt your feelings or disappoint you, but I believe the person that told you that... if they meant you would actually birth a child in heaven... was simply trying to alleviate your pain. I do not believe that the scriptures substantiate childbirth in heaven. It does say that there will be no more tears and no more sorrows. Tears and sorrows are for this life alone. I don't know if this helps, but I believe you deserve an honest answer.
