Did you know a bout an artist named Ed Young? He was born in Tientsin, China. He and his family moved to Shanghai and he came to America to study architecture. In 1990, his book Lon Po Po, a Red-Riding Hood story from China, was awarded the Caldecott Medal. He is also a respected T'ai Chi master. He is very talented kind of person.

I am not really familiar with Ed Young but I also heard that he has also received two Caldecott Honors – for The Emperor and the Kite and Seven Blind Mice. A very talented person indeed. Hope to hear more about him. :)

There were a lot of artist and authors in our society but only few of them were given special kind of acknowledgment and rewards like him. There's really must be something special with his books and arts. Smile

I'm glad that Ed Young discovered all this in children's books when he was in searched of something more expansive, expressive and timeless to do.

I think the main reason why not all people fully appreciated Ed Young art is simply because all his works are for the children. It may looked like simple, but it brings happiness t children around the world.
