Why Christians Should Be Involved in C vs E?

Why Christians Should Be Involved in C vs E?
Parents: You do know your children are being taught the theory of evolution probably without a single reference to any other perspective on origins, other than those ridiculing the modern anti-Christ status quo perspective?

It is also very likely that by the time your children, after being taken to church all their lives, will most likely abandon Christianity at least for a season of life upon entering college with intent to study science. Most go for other categories, but most will still be required to take a science course or two as a Freshman. In those classes it is highly likely the teacher (professor) will be pro-evolutionist and anti religious. They pay attention to the test scores of students, and their apparent beliefs. If your child speaks up for the Bible it is practically inevitable the professor and classmates will openly taunt your child, thereby suppressing all challenges. The result will be a lowered grade if there is no "progress" toward "enlightenment".

Many people who thought themselves to be Christian have abandoned the faith because of such pressures from peers in their youth and later in life. Some survived into middle life, then to abandon Christ once convinced Genesis is merely a collection of "goat-herder" comments, taught that by atheists and severely deceived "Christians" who value science enough to attack the Bible. On the internet believers of all ages are being challenged over their beliefs, called to replace that with modern science. Most don't realize science knowledge is somewhat like human skin cells, daily dying and being replaced at an astounding rate. By the end of your life what is called science today will be obsolete. If science becomes your "religion" today, your religion will become a different religion then.

The Book of Genesis of the Bible is a record of revelation and commandments from God to early man, through Moses the prophet among the Hebrew people after release from centuries of slavery in Egypt. Jesus and the apostles reference Genesis. Why? Because Christianity is largely based on the principles of Genesis, from original sin, to punishment of sin, and salvation. Without the knowledge of Genesis there would be no reason for Christ and His New Covenant.

If the accounts of Genesis were not real life events, then those would necessarily be regarded as imaginary campfire myths, in modern terms expressed as metaphors rather than a literal account of an event. If a metaphor helps us understand something real, then metaphors are wisely chosen tools of literature. But if they result in belief a real-life topic is fanciful, not real, then the steps God took to bring man to Christ would be merely fanciful, a great fairy tale.

I regularly read a wide variety science journals, still have access to subscriptions started and enjoyed as part of my career. Science has been my life career, mostly in biology fields, but bridged to geo-sciences, but mostly specialties like wetlands ecology and wildlife habitat management and forestry. However, I am strongly opposed to the use of modern science when it is used to denigrate Christian beliefs in Christ and the foundational Old Testament facts. Christ Jesus was a real man on Earth, Lord and Savior, and what is recorded of Him in the Bible is real. Otherwise, I enjoy modern science when conducted in a manner honoring the full definition of the "Scientific Method". The chief characteristic which distinguishes a scientific method of inquiry from other methods of acquiring knowledge is that scientists seek to let reality speak for itself, supporting a theory when a theory's predictions are confirmed and challenging a theory when its predictions prove false. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method

Unfortunately, most of the supposed new knowledge, contrary to fair use of the Scientific Method, supporting the theory of evolution is sponsored and/or conducted by scientists having a vested interest in that theory, in the form of a sponsored evolution museum tourist hotspot in Germany, or perhaps drawing grant money for university coffers. "Global Warming" pseudo-science exists for the same purposes, really very big money. When encountering discoveries that are contrary to their core beliefs they tend to bury such knowledge, like happened with "Climate-gate", which has been tamped down with admissions of deleted emails and a troubling lack of openness from the scientists involved. Follow the money. There is a huge cache of mostly taxpayer funds for support of human-caused climate change claims and evolution. Christians should disassociate from conflicting interests like those, and have been doing that within reason.

Disciples of Christ today know Jesus, know God personally, and can't be pulled away from God over any science or other knowledge preferred by men. Too late, we know. But not all claiming Christ are to that point of knowing, falling short of studying sufficiently to know untruth when it comes by. But we all have an adversary, Satan (the Devil) a fallen angel, who is doubtless behind the support of the evolution theory. The end game play is to separate as many people as possible from God, using a technique most people applaud as "fair", science, but not knowing the technique is evil. It's like football players being specially rewarded financial payment for putting an opponent star player on a stretcher and out of at least that game. We're seeing that in the basketball playoffs too. Fans cheer the play that prevents a score, then maybe regret a severe injury, sort of. Satan wants every believer off the field if at all possible. The reward to unbelievers who are in charge of science is to remain in charge, filling their pockets to make for happy careers.

So what is so repugnant to a disciple of Christ about evolution of man from a lower life form? Man can't logivcally be ignored by evolutionists, so we have to deal with his place in the scheme. If modern man emerged from some lower life form from which apes came, then man would bear an animal nature he shouldn't be held accountable for by standards of a holy God. Therefore, the theory of evolution would require that man is theologically equal with gorillas, though evolutionists of course theoretically don't involve themselves with theological issues. That's why they don't. It's a sticky issue. Men often do many evil things no animal can do. The sin gap between men and animals is too great.

It is my dream that more Christians will speak up, get involved. It isn't necessary to read science journals or be able to debate against almost mystical words of geneticists and famous authors promoting evolution. Evolutionists love to bury us in such challenges. It is the duty of Christians to preach the GOSPEL, not match evolutionist arguments point by point, and to do that using these debates as your pulpit. I look for every opportunity to take the debates back to the message of God.

Not a parent? Don't know what you are supposed to do for Jesus? All of us are commanded to spread the good news.

Whether a parent of not, evolution is being taught to all American students from age 8 up. It is presented within an ever expanding "learning spiral", like each loop of a "slinky" some of us remember, a length of coils fun to play with. Each coil represents one year of education, stacking year upon year with increasing levels of knowledge. In 2nd grade elementary school you might not recognize evolutionary teaching, but it's there, and certainly in the children's books they read. Soon they are memorizing dinosaur names, contaminating that good knowledge with "old age" assumptions of 60-100 million years, and by high school studying about "Lucy", their ape ancestor described on page 318 of our "current" 11th grade science textbook. It will be a few years more before they can afford to replace those, hopefully by then following the Texas model for history books. The whole process from age 8 until adulthood teaches a student it is very unproductive to stand up for anything the Bible says. A normal course follows, forsaking church, Bible study, or even caring whether man survives or not. "It's nature, you see. Man has no more right to survival than the lowest worm." If you like that motto for life, then own it, but apart from knowing Christ.

There are many teachers who are dedicated Christians, knowing what is going on, and knowing it is wrong to brainwash children. Probably all public schools depend on local, state and federal government funding. There are strong strings attached to that money. The Feds tell states what the minimum national standard is, then states add to that. The result is no time left for teachers, even in many Christian schools, to incorporate any alternative perspective of origins. So it is they are "forced" to only present the evolution agenda. Many time a school board or superintendent will add in other education objectives as fillers to prevent teachers from covering "hot topics" like creation science. When the minimum requirements of science are completed, maybe it will be a time for visiting a zoo instead of discussing objections to evolution in class. At the zoo the teacher has a class plan that requires relating the animals to features of evolution. Get it?

It is our proved Constitutional right for our children to be taught and discuss "creation science". No principal can legally interfere unless minimum education standards are interfered with. It doesn't have to include a single thing from the Bible to be "Creation Science". The discipline of Creation Science is well represented by many scientists who study nature purely by the Scientific Method, not letting their conclusions be dictated by the desires of atheistic fools in charge of science education. They examine the same evidences dug from the earth or seen in the night sky, use the same science methods taught to most if not all science students in universities, then dare to let nature "speak" or testify for itself.

There are tools and methods of teaching that are helpful to parents and teachers looking for ways to fit creation science into the daily science education of our children. It takes extra effort from school teachers already under high pressure, but we've found most respond with appreciation and follow-through when approached kindly, especially during P-T meetings when it is the best time for a parent to establish a personal contact with teachers. We give out creation science textbooks to local teachers and home school parents, and if they respond positively, offer other teaching aids that at least make opportunity for students to pursue the knowledge on their own. That's why it's important their libraries have those materials, all still in full view and the checkout cards full of names.

Please do what you can. Get more informed, take actions.

Do we Christians have a scriptural mandate to support the Bible account of Genesis? Yes. It comes from St. Peter, inspired of God to warn unbelievers.
I'd like to take you through it verse by verse. I think it will be enlightening to anyone already discouraged about the Bible because of the constant efforts of Bible skeptics coming at us through the theory of evolution.

2 Peter 3:[1] This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
Some Bible skeptics go to great lengths trying to say Peter didn't write 2 Peter. It's just too threatening for them, so they must denounce it.

[2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Peter is bringing up a matter that spans from teachings of the Old Testament prophets, and teachings from Peter and the other apostles of Jesus the Christ. Saying that puts a heavy emphasis on what he writes next, the message being not from him alone.

[3] Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
Scoffers were and still are people that are blatantly false teachers who mock, deride people who believe the scriptures the way God presented them to mankind. They point people to vain philosophies, corrupting the pure word of God. They do that for many unholy reasons.

[4] And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
By saying nothing has changed since creation began, they dismiss most of the Bible record, certainly omitting the flood of Noah, which changed the whole world at once. It is foolish to even think possible there has been no change on the planet since it began. That saying in the verse is an example of false teaching put forth with a hidden assumption most people don't catch right away, the phrase "all things continue as they were". A principle every evolutionist must retain is uniformitarianism, particularly in the geo-sciences, that the processes we have now are the same as in the beginning, thereby excluding events like the Gen. 6-9 flood covering the planet.

[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Scoffers are intentionally ignorant of the Bible account of creation and the flood, usually refusing to discuss it. They only promote the opposite views. Here, Peter says the heavens were of old, old being back to creation week, about 6000 years ago. Genesis chapter 1 declares that the earth was covered completely by water during Day 1 & 2. On Day 3 the dry land was made, and oceans formed, so the Earth stood out of the water.
In Genesis chapter 6 the earth was once again in the water, flooded due to judgment of sin that began with Adam & Eve, responsible for the "Original Sin" that called upon Jesus to come to save.

[6] Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
The world from Adam until Noah perished, drowned, except such as should be saved in the Ark. The Ark is a type of Christ. The flood was a judgment from God that He promised not to repeat.

[7] But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
In "the same breath" Peter goes from creation week, to flood, to present. The Earth Peter saw is what we see, and it won't be flooded like before, but ungodly people will be judged again, and have an appointment in the lake that burns with fire, in which Hell itself will be tossed.

[8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
It might seem like forever over that time span, or seem too short. A day or a thousand years, to God it is practically the same, and what He told those men to warn about will come to pass.

[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Ungodly people scoff at the prospect of a huge judgment from God, but not believing won't delay it. God delays it concerning His promise, that many be saved.

[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Like the flood came suddenly, so will the next judgment come. Jesus mentioned His return would come when conditions on Earth are once again similar to the way it was in Noah's day. The ungodly will face God while the planet is remodeled by fire instead of water.

[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
That was good word for the people then as well as today, only we are closer to that time.

[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
We should be busy about seeing people saved, not obsessed over things of Earth, treasures that will melt, and not fighting the inevitable like scoffers do.

[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Rather than dwell on the don'ts, here is what to constantly look forward to. To see that requires a removal of the old, like God did in Genesis 6-9.

[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. [15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; [16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
So dear Christian, learn and be stable, able to understand, and not be swayed back and forth. Peter wasn't the only apostle to warn of the great judgment to come.

[17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Those scoffers will, if you don't resist them, lead you into depression, dismay, trouble, ignorance. They are marked by the fact they don't take the creation and flood accounts as literal events that happened as recorded. Christian doctrine, of original sin, salvation over and above destruction of judgment, and all Bible doctrine in between is based solidly upon the Book of Genesis. It's the Word of God meant to be taken word by word as all true. If you will study, read up, you will discover how true science, how an estimated 10,000 American scientists plus others in the world are advocates of the Genesis accounts. We have the science facts to refute practically every claim of evolutionists. Much of it is available at least in summary form online.

[18] But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

But if this is all too daunting, you can't catch up, be confident God is no liar, that the men He chose to record His message to mankind heard Him accurately, are found in agreement with each other over a 1600 year span of writing of the books of the Bible. Be growing in the wonderful gift of God's grace which makes possible your gaining of the knowledge of Jesus and His gospel, which in turn adds growth in His grace.
