Re: [Allen4862] WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE TEMPTED
Allen4862: Hi

Do you see it? God's purpose was to proclaim His name through the earth. A one shot knockout punch would not have accomplished His purpose like a drawn out, ten-plague assault did.

I don't wish to disagree with your insights here. They are perfectly valid as far as they go.

There is also the possibility though that God gave Pharaoh every opportunity to cooperate, even before the first plague but Pharaoh, being Pharaoh, could not cooperate with God. Even when it says 'God' hardened Pharaoh's heart, it probably does not mean that God took over from Pharaoh and made him obstinate. He just WAS, like many a bossy unbelieving sinner.

God just predicted that Pharaoh, being Pharaoh, would naturally act that way, just like any other 'all powerful' wicked reprobate.

God cuts us all an amazing amount of slack you know, and every time we oppose Him, we make it worse for ourselves and others we have authority over.

"Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them as the Lord had said." Ex.8:19.
.
In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. 2 Cor. 5:19. Love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Pet.4:8b.
