No Pests Yet

Posted in General on Thu, Apr 26 2007 - 02:26 PM

Today I worked on my Church’s newsletter—inserted “Church Chatter” written by the Deacon Bob, who is a chatterer himself.  I use the older print shop 6 for the newsletter; the newest print shop newsletter is ok.  I finally managed to get the praize messenger working.  It was weird chatting on it.  Hopefully the new beta version is better.  There...

Sat.-Mon. news

Posted in General on Tue, Apr 24 2007 - 09:42 AM

Hey Brothers & Sisters,Last Saturday mom and I plus my day nurse, Steph, went to a lady’s 80th surprise birthday party down in my church’s fellowship hall.  We all gathered 15 minutes before Marian was ushered in.  I don’t remember being at a surprise birthday party before so it was interesting.  So we were all waiting snacking and gabbing...

Posted in General on Thu, Apr 19 2007 - 11:49 AM

Brothers and Sisters,Yesterday I had typed up something for my blog regarding the “domestic partnership” bill which governor Gregoire of Washington state is anxiously awaiting to sign into law.  I mentioned that I e-mailed the governor being opposed the bill.  The same day I asked my friend to view my blog (who may not agree with my position on ...

A prayer for Virginia Tech

Posted in General on Tue, Apr 17 2007 - 01:11 PM

Brothers and Sisters, By now you have heard or read about the Virginia Tech massacre.  Even when I live 2000 miles away I just feel for the college.  I pray for the student/faculty victims, the wounded and their families.  I also pray for the gunman’s, Cho Seung-Hui, family who probably felt sick and sorry with his actions.    Dear Lord, I pray...

Jesus--Jackie Robinson

Posted in General on Mon, Apr 16 2007 - 12:42 AM

Yesterday was the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s debut as the first African American Major League baseball player.  Being a baseball fan I knew about Jackie’s story and what he went through.  Jackie was taunted, spit at, mocked and demoralized.  As the sport commentators talked about him I found similar parallels between Jesus and Jackie...

Thank you Jesus

Posted in General on Sun, Apr 15 2007 - 02:19 PM

Those words brings a smile to my heart--a warm smile! I want to say it alot more. Thank you Jesus! I may be in a wheelchair with Muscular Dystophy on a ventilator but I just thank Jesus for my life and life. I almost never complain so if anyone wants to complain about silly stuff just think of me--in fact think of Jesus suffering on a cross for us-...

More on Cold Frame

Posted in General on Sat, Apr 14 2007 - 10:42 AM

4/14/2007Hi Bros and Sis’s,The other day we put up a cold frame in my backyard.  It was a nice day for this task with the sun out and blue skies.  As you know my assistant Steph helped me put this together. First we tilled up the raised planter and threw in some earthworms!  They will be feasting on microscopic bugs in the soil, so the bugs don’t...

Cold frame

Posted in General on Thu, Apr 12 2007 - 01:26 PM

Good day to you, Brothers and Sisters,I decided on a new look for my blog, how does it look?  This is brighter than the black and neon.  Today a cold frame (a miniature greenhouse) will be built on top of my planter.  All my pepper plants are off inside a real greenhouse getting fixed.  The zucchini is in the compost.  No green thumbs yet and they ...

Now I lay me down to sleep,I pray the Lord my soul to keep; And if I die before I wake,I pray the Lord my soul to take.My mom taught me this when I was a little boy.  Someone told me there was another verse or two to this familiar prayer.  I searched the internet and didn’t find any other verses to the original poem.  I did find a couple other...

Dreary Zucchini Plants

Posted in General on Mon, Apr 09 2007 - 12:50 AM

Well, brothers and sisters,Over the weekend seemed to be a good idea to put my zucchini plants outside in the sunny part of the deck for a few hours.  When they were brought back inside they looked not very perky and the green paler.  Perhaps they were shocked with the natural sun for the first time.  My pepper and tomatillo seedlings are not...

Hi brothers and sisters,It has been awhile since I last posted since my computer crashed Tuesday.  It is back running almost at full speed as in installing everything again.  Yesterday I took my nurse for my first spring walk, or should I say she took me for a walk J  being that I’m in a wheelchair.  Oh, it was so nice to have warm sun shine in my ...

Go Mariners!

Posted in General on Tue, Apr 03 2007 - 11:30 AM

4/3/2007Yesterday was opening day for baseball.  My team, the Seattle Mariners WON, YEA!  I was excited that they won their first game, but not as excited as years past.  Since becoming deeper into my faith and having Jesus more and more flowing in me, a lot of worldly pastimes are slowly not very important.  I have the whole James Bond movie...

Posted in General on Mon, Apr 02 2007 - 01:43 PM

Hi again,It is April second--Doesn't look or feel like spring--it decided to snow and hail.  UUGGHHHHH!  The sun shone itself yesterday, but it was windy going to church.  Went with my mom and my nurse.  We found a new pew which is fine.  My wheelchair slid right in where part of the pew was shortened. Anyway Pastor David's sermon was pretty good. ...
