Response to adversity

Posted in General on Fri, Nov 10 2017 - 08:34 AM

I remember years ago when I thought so much in the World was bad. I talked to my earthly father who was agreeable about talking through many of my concerns. I mentioned how everyone was struggling with high cost of living and wages that weren't enough to go around. As I talked from my view point, he was quick to try and bring my view point into a...

Promoting love and not anger or violence

There is so much disharmony in the world especially on social media. I joined Facebook to keep up with friends and family that I live far away from. If one of them posts, you never know who will jump on the post and begin to make attempts to hijack the conversation and make rude comments to raise your anger. I have tried to address them with...

First baptism in our satellite church since we launched

When we are in the audience and singing at the top of our lungs praising God, we don't realize the particulars of the first baptisimal service. We have had over 50 people accept Christ in the last five weeks. We had 13 baptized with three of them accepting Christ in the baptistry!! Most of them were young people that were baptized. What a blessing ...

A new movie: Same Kind of Different as Me

A new movie was released that was a story from a book my husband had read. When he saw that it was coming out, he mentioned that he wanted to see it. I asked him a little about it and although he said a few things, he didn't tell me so much that I wasn't surprised by finding out the story as it unfolded. I would love to share all about it, but don'...

The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity whether it be work or school or visitors in my home and I have loved it. We went through a time when I was home with a shoulder injury and due to the pain we were mainly just going to doctors. I have to say that time, exercise, and mainly prayers to God were the healer of my shoulder which it as...

1:2 Consider it all joy, my brothers, when various trials light upon you, 3. know that the proving of your faith produces endurance. 4. And the endurance must attain its purpose, so that you would be mature and complete and not falling short in any way. 5. But if anyone of you lacks wisdom, he must continually ask from God, the ...

I have been listening to a word by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn which has spoken of things that are happening here in the US at present that was something that was spurred on from 9/11/2001 and the teaching is linked to Isaiah 9:10. The same warnings are going on here to bring us back to God and to direct us to seek into God. Reading further in Isaiah 12 &...

1 Chronicles 28: 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee: but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. vs 10 Take heed now;...

Getting a time to observe a virtuous woman

Well my last blog was just to share the Proverbs 31, but I wanted to share an experience that I had due partly to Praize, my sister, but much to the Lord. Due to meeting people here from all walks of life and all over the world, several of us wanted to meet face to face. We just didn't think we could wait until Jesus returned and therefore, it was ...

Proverbs 31 1  The words of king Lamuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. 2  What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? 3  Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. 4  It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes ...

Headed this morning to visit my son and famiy's new church and to have a little family time today. With so many kids, I have to spread myself around, but only as if fits into their schedule. I wait until they express a desire for some Mom time and then I am glad to comply. Everyone has such busy schedules as they try to make their own commitments...

This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice in it. I enjoyed entering the Sabbath last night in the house He provided among brothers and sisters in Christ. I am so blessed to be able to not only share there, but here with you all. Besides sharing all that He is doing for us, I rested well during the first part of the Sabbath and rose to...

I listened to podcasts for several hours because they have some...

Answers to prayer

Last night I was able to attend a home service of praises at my son's house. During the service, I was praying about the last experience I wrote about "Confounding the medical" and I realized that God through this experience was preparing hearts of the patient and family to receive Him. When they rebuffed the prayers of the chaplain, I wondered at ...

2 Peter 1: 2- Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. Prayer for Israel

Heavenly Father, I am coming to You on behalf of the people of Israel who have been under attack for so long a time. They have been at the center of so much controversy in just claiming what You have given them. It is a miracle that they have been able to maintain the land being they are surrounded on all sides by enemies that would take back...

I've been busy this morning, reading blogs was in the past one of my early morning rituals unless I was led by the Lord to write something. Sometimes I would comment, and sometimes I was just led to ponder. Many people wrote what God put on their heart and it was powerful, so you just had to think and pray over it. Sometimes it was someone pouring ...

Who do you say that I am?

Posted in Personal on Thu, Aug 11 2011 - 05:56 AM

This week in our Bible Study we are challenged to ask the question that Jesus asked of His disciples, "Who do you say I am?" in every time we open the Bible and read a passage. We agreed that the entirity of scripture points to Jesus and so as we read and open ourselves to the Spirit asking for wisdom in understanding the scriptures, we ask the...

Today we meet again with Kenny's pastor on some introductory lessons to the Lutheran Faith. Last week the pastor started with asking if we had any goals through these studies and I drew a blank. When I first told the pastor I was interested in learning more of what the Lutheran church taught, it was more of a curiousity from the outside since I...

Years ago when I was a young girl, I went with a friend to visit her church. They were having a revival and had a guest minister preaching. In the church I attended, there were usually a whole staff of church leaders that would lead in worship and singing, but this minister was like a one man band in that he lead worship, sang the special music...

I woke up this morning with this word in my head. That usually means that I am to look it up. There was a piece of a scripture in my head, so I decided to check it out with the concordance that I like to search through. I was thinking about the scripture where Jesus talks about taking no thought about tomorrow. But I didn't remember what he said...

For weeks now I have been dealing with a nagging back pain. Having worked on a Neurological floor I knew what this type of pain usually meant and I was praying a decreeing all the time, but the nagging pain would not go away. It made sitting very uncomfortable and lifting patients became a real concern. I know that God wants us well and by His...

Stray Words

A few days ago I was working with another nurse that likes to get into everyone elses business at work and although her premise is helping, it doesn't always go that way but instead many times hinders. I had tried to just go on and ignore or to make the best of things, but the intrusiveness had been to the point of interferring in the care I had...

About: I am originally from Texas but moved here to Southern California about 18 years ago to be near family for help in raising my children. I worked as a nurse in a local hospital in this area until retiring a year ago. My children are all grown, but still are a joy and then there are the grandchildren who are a joy also. Now I am continuing to venture forth with God as my guide. I chose my screen name because my name comes from Hebrew and means "a bee". My middle name, Kay, comes from Greek and means "exultant or rejoicing". So to me my name means, "One who seeks only the sweet (the Lord) in life with rejoicing". I believe and claim scriptural motivations for my name in the verses of Ezekial 3:3, Proverbs 16:21, and Psalms 19 I had a personal ministry within nursing which God placed me in years ago and now am seeking where He is taking me. The scripture He gave me years ago regarding my ministry is in Isaiah 40:1 "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, Saith the Lord your God." Through His assistance, He works to do just that with the people I serve. My prayer is that all would come to have a supernatural experience with Jesus, to meet Him, accept Him into their lives and have a special relationship with Him forever. I just love a big family!!
