A Day to Remember

Wow what a week! The centre piece of course being my niece Ellie Ryalls wedding to her beau Matt. What a day filled with pretty things with delicate things with special things with family things with godly things with Love. It's such a great thing when family and friends gather to celebrate love. It's such a privilege to have your name on the guest list to come and witness two people declare publicly their love and to swear an oath publicly of their intentions and devotions. To cleave only onto that's how Jean and I said it ( not sure how Matt and Elspeth said it I was having a little tear time! ) but cleaving only onto was the essence of whatvthey said. A vow of total reliance and total commitment. No wonder Jesus calls his church his bride . He wants an exclusive relationship. Total devotion total reliance.
So to my amazing big bro Paul I honour you for the fine example you are to us all especially your ability to admit errors and to teach f...orgiveness and new starts, your hunger for truth and righteousness and your passion for service is rare but your soft kind brothers love is what I salute most. Your gentle inclusion of Jeany in your wise words on Saturday was much appreciated . To see your pride as you led a beautiful Ellie through the church was a treat. Momma Ber ( sounds like a fairy tale) what can I say you were dressed beautifully coiffured magnificently manicured majestically but you were a walking living breathing and dancing picture of grace. I know you wear your heart on your sleeve and you like me let hurts and sorrows flow in tears with little encouragement. But on wedding day you just shone with grace and peace . It doesnt seem that long since we were at the wedding of Paul and ber ...nadette and to see you arrive as the mother of the bride to a happy chorus of cheers was fantastic.
To Hannah well done ! Relax now and smile with contentment loved how you constantly made sure things were ticking over perfectly . Benj your worship and music was perfect and true and you still managed to look cool . To our new American relations it can't have been easy to parachute into a mad Irish group of strangers . A gang who speak quicker and all together . Hope you felt our welcome and our love and have many special memories of your Irish visit.
And Mr and Mrs Ryalls the adventure begins now and as your wild hearted crazy uncle can I encourage you to seize every moment of the love adventure with gusto and enthusiasm . Life is for living love fir sharing don't sweat the small stuff and don't waste precious time trying to win. Keep short accounts and in honour prefer one another. Ellie if I was the wedding teacher you would now quite clearly be granted a gold star and excused homework for at least a week !!! Love you loads and pray blessing for you and your hubby . So to all the Celbridge Carleys thanks for a great day . God is good .
