REFLECTING ON THIS PAST WEEK
As I think back over my life this past week, I realize that within the last six days, I have traveled over 1,000 miles and been a guest in two major U.S. cities. I stayed up one of those days for 24 straight hours. I experienced a little adversity and let down (I say little because it could have been worse).
Upon returning home, I had to transition from travel to work, then to ministry, then to business and many points between the three. I must admit that I forget a couple of things that I had committed to do. And I’m behind on some other pertinent tasks I’d committed to. I've yet to respond to several emails that I've starred in order to return to and read or follow-through with a certain task. And I’m still behind in the house keeping realm.
Trying to think: Have I even seen my children yet?
I realize that every day started early, even the day that didn’t end and the day after that one.
Today is Saturday, which should be a day of rest and relaxation. My day started with early morning convos with two very different people about matters of import. There’s house keeping, work, business, ministry, and get-togethers that are all waiting to inhale my time today.
What is amazing to me is this: Although I suffered this week from lack of sleep and at times lack of food, I feel wonderful. I have peace of mind. I have a generous dose of passion, energy and quiet expectation that something good is not just going to happen, but it is happening right now.
I’m thankful to the Lord for how he’s keeping me, and I’m thankful for the people and the things he’s put in my life to keep me motivated, moving.
Can’t explain it. . .
