308 HUMAN RIGHTS?

Matthew
28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.

I have
been hearing the phrase ‘my rights’ everywhere lately and I am curious as to
how these people got those rights and who is giving those rights to them.

What it
seems like to me is they are claiming to have rights and everyone is to give
them their ‘rights’ at our expense so they can have what the rest of us don’t.
Somehow that thought train seems to be a whole lot selfish but no one has asked
me. They just seem to think I should be putting myself out to give them rights
I don’t think they have.

I also
hear a lot of people demanding respect without them having earned it.

The
bible tells me to submit to GOD and resist the devil.

James
4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you.

God has
a list of things He wants me to submit to and the demands of the proud and
angry protests of the selfish are not listed there.

It
seems people think authority is given to governments and organizations for them
to obey their demands. Again, this is not what God says in His word.

Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule
over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow,
considering the end of their conversation.

1Peter
2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether
it be to the king, as supreme;

1Peter
2:14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of
evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

1Peter
5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you
be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the
proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

So,
what rights do these demanding people think they have coming to them?

All
power is given to Jesus. All the earth is God’s, even our bodies is made from
His dirt.

Exodus
19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then
ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is
mine:

And
God’s breath gave us life so, even our lives are not ours.

Job
33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given
me life.

God HAS
given us something that belongs only to us.

Genesis
2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Each
and every person from the spark of the sperm and egg to the dying senior has
one individual and unique soul that God created with the giving of His breath
of life. This is the only thing that is truly yours and that you control.

God has
hinted at a few other ‘rights’ that you can have. You have the right to know
the truth, you have the right to love and obey Him and you have the right to be
a harmonious and helpful part of Christian society.

All
other rights are either given you by God or earned by your honest life and hard
work.

Even
the ‘rights’ men give you are not yours. You can buy the right to own a house
but, if you don’t make the payments or pay the taxes, it will be taken from
you. Every ‘right’ you acquire comes with a price tag; even your salvation from
the sin you were born into cost Jesus His life.

Now, my
friends, you also have the right to not listen to those around you making
demands they don’t deserve.

Isaiah
33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth
the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that
stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing
evil;

Psalms
94:4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and
all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

In
demanding rights they don’t deserve and thinking themselves more important than
others, the wicked will draw the anger of a truly righteous God.

Psalms
94:23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off
in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

If a
person has to demand their human rights, they don’t have the rights they are
demanding for no one has given it to them else they would not be demanding.

John
19:11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me,
except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee
hath the greater sin.

Human
rights? We don’t have any but promises and hope we have a bountiful supply.
