305 TRUTH & PERCEPTION

John
21:22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is
that
to thee? follow thou me.

God’s
word was written for us to know and understand Him. It was given by the Holy
Spirit and, if understood correctly, reveals the true nature and mind workings
of our loving God.

2Timothy
3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness:

What’s
in the way of our true understanding is our lusts and desires which want God’s
scripture to say what we want to hear and not what He wants to say.

James
1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and
enticed.

Jesus’
disciples were with Him for three years and were still getting some of His
comments wrong. That is way Jesus sent His Holy Spirit after His death to
continue leading us into His truth.

John
16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that
shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Every
word has a specific meaning and is placed in sequence by God. Nothing is done
without God’s knowledge and His allowance. Thus we need to understand God first
and open our hearts to Him and be willing to accept all of His ways. His words
cannot contradict themselves and must agree with His thoughts and ways.

Any
student of scriptures must keep God’s principles in mind when trying to
understand one piece of scripture and not surmise its meaning to go along with
todays habits. It helps if you can read scripture without a preconceived idea
already looking for proof of its reality.

The
devil starts right from day one in a new Christian’s life to distract, turn
away or derail that Christian’s walk with His God. He sends them distractions,
activities to busy them, false preachers and false teachers; friends that will
take away what God is teaching them and ‘good’ works that busy their mind and
detracts from God’s word. He is a master at deception and, knowing God’s word,
will use it to fool the unwise, unprotected and innocent Christians.

Matthew
4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is
written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their
hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a
stone.

Jesus knew the true meaning of His Father’s
word and replied with scripture.

Matthew 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written
again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Jesus
is God’s word and is ready to give the true meaning to those who will seek and
ask for it; even today.

Luke
24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you,
while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written
in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms,
concerning me.

Luke
24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the
scriptures,

Every
denomination, church or religious gathering has those little mistakes in their
teachings. They originate from the group wanting to make life easier for the
rest of the group or them wanting to ‘see’ the others following God. We have
ended up with many translations of God’s word, each trying to make its meaning
plainer to those seeking God.

The
danger in this is every time one changes God’s words, the meaning is changed.

Would
and should mean two different things even though they are interchangeable. Can
and may also can mean the same thing but each represents a different ability
and changes the action from the receiver to the giver.

Jesus
taught in parables to those people who knew the meaning of the experiences He
talked about. Fishing to fishermen, seeds to farmers, life lessons to religious
leaders and so on; each group could easily relate to the other’s profession but
only the professionals understood the small details of their profession.

Even a
farmer could drop a hook, with a bug on it, into the water and catch a meal but
it took a fisherman to catch a meal for a large group when the fish were
scarce.

God’s
word will never change or never cease but it is diluted down to us. God’s word
leaves God’s mouth in its purest form but it can and is being diluted before it
reaches the hearer unless that hearer is listening directly to God.

When
God’s word comes through another person, gets written into a letter or book or
gets repeated from one to another before reaching its intended receiver, it
will almost assuredly be diluted.

The
bible warns us about ‘trying the Spirits’ to make sure who we are listening to
is really speaking from God. A message from God must come through a faithful
follower of God and He has His tests and standard that the messenger must live
up to.

1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit,
but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are
gone out into the world.

My
advice to you is to listen to everyone when you ask your questions; don’t
discount the hard or unwanted answers. Study or question those answering your
request. They should stand the questions without irritation. Then find a place
of solitude and ask God’s direction or confirmation on all the answers.

It is
time consuming and tedious but you will learn the truth and as you continue
doing it, it will get easier.

God
wants each and every one of us to build a personal relationship with Him and to
know the truth ourselves. Trust me, He IS worth the effort.

Hebrews
8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write
them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a
people:

Hebrews
8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his
brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the
greatest.

Hebrews
8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their
iniquities will I remember no more.

Jeremiah
24:7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and
they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me
with their whole heart.

John
8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my
word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

John
8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
