Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

There is no ‘free pass’ into Heaven.

Everyone MUST work for their forgiveness.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Oh, yes, I know it is a ‘gift’ from God.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

God gives salvation to any and all who will ask for it.

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Therein is the ‘work’, which WE MUST DO; “because we KEEP his commandments”.

You see, there is a person attached to God’s gift of salvation. He is God’s son, Jesus Christ.

God raised Jesus from the dead but there is no promise that He will raise anyone else from there death EXCEPT through His son, Jesus Christ.

All judgment was given to Jesus by His father, God, and He, Jesus, decides whose name is written in the book of life.

John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Jesus has given each one, who has accepted Him as their saviour, another gift of the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, or the comforter. This Holy Spirit is to lead us into all truth so we can correctly obey our saviour.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Spirit will convict you of sin and show you the truth BUT…….you are still required to make the decision to obey the truth. God WILL NOT force you to choose the truth over your own lusts and desires. That is OUR JOB.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

We succeed, and please God, when we obey the truth. We fail and sin when we are drawn away by our lusts and desires.

James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Salvation is God’s gift but it becomes ours when we accept Jesus as our saviour and obey Him as our king and master.

(By the way, ‘have to’ does not succeed. Only ‘want to’ will work because it is driven by love and not selfish desire.)

This is why we are held accountable for our thoughts and actions. If we have accepted Jesus, and will obey Him, He will have salvation with Him when He comes for us.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Some people trust in Jesus’ mother, Mary, some people trust in saying a prayer once in ‘once saved, always saved, some people trust in speaking in tongues, some people trust in their own goodness, some people trust in a loving God that would send no one to Hell, or any other belief that can be imagined in a man’s mind but only the acceptance, love and obedience of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, will satisfy God.

Don’t worship the Holy Spirit, Mary, your church doctrine, a golden statue, money, or fame. Worship Jesus’ father, God, love Jesus, and trust in the leading of the Holy Ghost; confirmed by God’s word, the Bible.
