Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Jesus, God’s son, learned obedience by THE THINGS WHICH HE SUFFERED.

Then, scripture says, ‘and being made perfect’. Can we assume that Jesus was made perfect by learning obedience from suffering?

Maybe I’m reading it wrong but THAT is what this scripture looks like to me.

Luke 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

Jesus suffered to fulfill scriptures. He knew that He was God’s son and that the scriptures predicted all the things He would have to suffer to fulfill them.

Jesus IS the LIVING WORD OF GOD and knew the suffering He would have to go through if He was going to be obedient to His own word.

Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Jesus knew that we were lost in sin; yes, every one of us.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

We NEEDED SOMEONE TO HELP US and He answered God’s call to become our savior.

Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

The good news does not end there. Because the world hated Jesus, it will also hate those of us who love and obey Him.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Now, we have the opportunity to learn obedience by suffering and can become perfected in Christ by suffering for, and with, Him.

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

The very people that we love will be the cause of our suffering, so that we can show them the love of Christ, through us.

We can do and be like Jesus, to show the world, that hates us, Christ great love for them.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

We can suffer, in love, along with our Christian family.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

What a wonderful gift God has given us that we may be able to suffer with, and for, one another to spread God’s gospel message of love.

1 Corinthians 9:12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

We are called to be like Jesus and enter into His suffering.

1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1 Peter 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Suffering; another gift from God to help us love.
