560 MY PEACE.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus has promised those, who trust Him, peace.

It is the peace, which He had while He walked on this earth as a man.

John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Jesus’ peace was given Him by His father in Heaven. His father had sent Him to this world to do His father’s business. Jesus trusted His father in all things BECAUSE HE WAS SENT.

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Jesus was in constant communication with His heavenly father and did only the things His father showed Him to do.

John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Therefore, the result of Jesus’ words and actions were not His concern, because He was doing His father’s work. The results and consequences were His father’s concern and God would deal with whatever resulted from His words and actions.

Life and death meant nothing to Jesus; only doing for and pleasing His father, mattered.

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Thus, Jesus’ peace came from a complete trust in His father and was not connected to His own thoughts or actions.

It is THIS PEACE, which Jesus offers to give us. (I say ‘offers’ even though Jesus says ‘He gives’ because, surprising as it may sound, there are many who say they serve Jesus but will refuse His wishes and gifts.)

Jesus rested IN THIS PEACE, even though He was tempted, tried, beaten, scourged, and killed BECAUSE He trusted His father.

This is the peace and rest that Jesus gives us. When we accept Jesus’ gift of salvation, we are no longer our own. We belong to Him and He will organize and control OUR LIVES. (not the lives of those around us, to accommodate us.)

We will still live in this world, feel hunger, pain, worry, fear, cold, old age, and death BUT, we do not have to lose our peace because of anything we suffer, of this world, because Jesus has been there, in those circumstances, before us and has overcome them.

There is the peace, which Jesus promises to those who will accept it. HE IS IN CONTROL OF US and nothing can take away His love for us and our eventual eternity with Him.

Jesus peace is within us.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

It is in the kingdom of God, in our hearts, where we have this perfect peace that Jesus is in control and He will be responsible for the results of those things, which affect us.

Remember, Jesus said He gives us HIS PEACE!

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The world cannot physically see Jesus peace in us. It can only see the evidence of Jesus’ peace as WE live it and show it to them.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus’ peace; find it within but live it out loud.
