548 ALL ABOUT THAT SIN.

Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

It is important to remember that the actions of the wicked are not the sins of the wicked. The actions of the wicked are the result of the sin in their heart.

Sin is a rebellion against God’s goodness.

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

God has given mankind His law in His word.

God’s word will lead us into all righteousness, if we learn it and apply it to our heart and life.

God even sent Jesus to be the living example of His word, so we could ‘see’ His word and understand it.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

God is our creator and He loves us, so He knows what is best for us. His thoughts and actions are for us to be like Him and live well in His presence.

WE, through Adam’s disobedience, wanted to live our own way, in lust and selfishness. So, Adam disobeyed and mankind inherited his disobedient attitude from him and his wife, Eve.

Oh, sure, he had some help from the master of sin, the devil, but Adam decided to obey that snake and acted against God’s good commandment. Then he tried to hide it from God and blame others for their sin.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Genesis 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

You see, the sin they acquired in their heart, from their decision to disobey, caused them to hide from the one who loved them the most AND to LIE TO THE GOD who loved them the most.

Our actions are the evidence needed to determine the attitude of our hearts, where goodness or sin lives.

Adam’s disobedience showed God the sin in his heart and mankind’s actions also shows Him the sin in our hearts.

Only our repentance and acceptance of God’s word and son, Jesus Christ, will change our wicked hearts. Then our actions will be determined from our loving hearts and will reflect the change we have received.

The sin, in our hearts, cannot be hidden. It will manifest itself in our actions, no matter how hard we try to hide it.

Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

You cannot hide sin in your heart and serve God. You are only fooling yourself because God can see into your heart.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

What you allow to live in your heart will determine who you are serving and will be revealed by your actions. You can only serve ONE MASTER; either it will be God or the devil but not both.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Whom have you accepted into your heart; God’s son, Jesus Christ, and obedience to Him or sin and obedience to our enemy, the devil?

After all, it is very simple. It’s ALL ABOUT THAT SIN IN YOUR HEART!
