547 GONE!

Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

God’s church is waiting for our returning Lord to take us from this wicked world.

We should not be comfortable here because of the rampant sin that inhabits the hearts of those around us.

We should be looking to see Jesus, face to face, and have no other thought, at that moment, than to look upon the one we love and worship Him, as we aut to. (I see spell check doesn’t have all the words in its vocabulary. ‘aut to’ – should)

There is one problem that I see people are getting caught up in. They are envisioning what would be left after the church is caught away.

I see videos of churches and places after Jesus catches His people away and I hear many speeches and ideas of what would be left after the rapture.

Personally, I wouldn’t care what is left when Jesus snatches me from this earth.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

I will not be looking at what is left on this earth, when I am taken. My focus will be on where I will be going. (That won’t be a long thought because it will be over in an instant and I will be there.)

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

First of all, when Jesus calls, I will be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Secondly, I will be in front of and close to my Lord, saviour, AND FRIEND Jesus Christ, in the clouds of heaven. Anyone looking down will have a terrible case of ‘fear of heights’. I am not expecting anything to be under my feet when I meet Jesus. (Who said, “man can’t fly” and we will not need wings.)

Thirdly, I will be ecstatic just to be in the presence of my Lord that anything else will seem trivial.

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Isaiah 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Fourthly, we will know that for all eternity, we will never, ever be separated from our Lord, again.

Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Fifthly, we will be able to see everything in heaven and on earth because our vision will be cleared.

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

My focus will not be on this earth, when Jesus calls to me and, I hope, yours will not be here, also. I will be looking up and ahead to Him that I will be going to.

As far as this world is concerned; when I leave for heaven, I will just be GONE from this place.
