Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Even before we were born, there were those who had plans for our lives, goals they wanted us to achieve, and importance they wanted us to become.

We entered into this ‘goal’ oriented mindset upon our birth and those mature adults, in our world, set their plans in motion. From day one, they started their campaign to make us into their image of what they thought we should be.

They dressed baby girls in pink and baby boys in blue, bought baby pants for boys and baby dresses for girls, and bought gender acceptable AND life career toys that were applicable to their expectations.

Their goal was to impress ‘their goal’ on our minds so it would become our goal.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The end result always seemed to be more important than HOW WE GOT TO THE END RESULT.

We were taught to lie, just a little, and to slant the circumstances in our favour to get the results we wanted instead of telling the truth and trusting that the person or people making the decisions would understand our honesty.

We were taught to be consistent in our efforts to get to our life’s goal, even over seemingly important events in the lives of others.

We overlooked many of our talents or used them mainly to achieve our taught expectations rather than use them to help others along the way.

Then we arrived. Either we achieved our goal, failed miserably, or died.

Then what? We expended all that energy, did all those selfish things, and ignored life just to get HERE. No one told us what came after ‘here’.

The world has all kinds of ‘carrots’, which it dangles in front of us. Pleasures and luxuries that make us grow old struggling to get them for our own self.

Desirable dainties that the world keeps ‘just out of reach’ so we have to struggle harder, work longer, and give up more just to achieve ‘our?’ goal.

Even the religious world says ‘live your life according to their interpretation of scriptures, the Quran, book of Mormon, Buddha, Indian myths, modern science, and/or any other incorrect teachings and you will get to heaven, paradise, the afterlife, oblivion, or wherever you were told you should be trying to get to.

So,…….You get to Heaven, then what?

Do you really think that you are going to fly through the sky, sit on a cloud, and play a harp, forever?

When everyone and everything is trying to get you to focus on the end goal, is THAT not a clue that should warn you to the dangers of doing just that.

How many people do you know who have arrived at their life’s goal and are happy there? Or have achieved their life’s desire and have stopped doing everything because they are content with that ONE GOAL.

God is not trying to take you to a dead end.

He is trying to teach you a lifestyle that will make you content with what He is bringing with Him.

The process of living happily in God’s kingdom is learned by the process we live every day in obedience to Heaven’s king, Jesus Christ. We learn and live it here, today, right now.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

RIGHT NOW, you could be learning about righteousness.

RIGHT NOW, you could be doing those things that are important to live in the Kingdom of God.

RIGHT NOW, you could be walking and talking with Jesus and knowing Him as your savour, master, AND BEST FRIEND.

RIGHT NOW, you could be learning your most important lesson for happiness in your eternity.

RIGHT NOW, you could BE in the kingdom of God and the life lessons you are learning will be usable now.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Mark 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

The process of living is where God is to be found; right here, right now.

Live with Jesus now and every day and you will be able to speak about ‘your goal in life’ in the PAST TENSE.
