John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Remember, when we were kids?

Yeh, back then; before the internet, computers and televisions. (TVs for those younger ones.)

We would go outside to play and (gasp) be SAFE.

Don’t remember? Well, I am talking about 60 years ago, when pedophiles were afraid for their lives, there was one parent home most of the time, fathers worked at physically demanding jobs and knew the value of being aggressive(when needed), and communities raised their children. Yeh, those days.

Remember when we would gather in the vacant field or on the pond for a game of scrub baseball or hockey?

We would pick two leaders and they would take turns picking their team until all the kids were on a team. Then we would improvise bases or goals and have fun playing against each other.

Jesus related His people to a family and we are. Jesus has made a way for us to have access to His heavenly father and adopted us into their family.

This is the position all Christians (those who have accepted Jesus, His gift of salvation, and His mastery) have and we can now call God OUR FATHER.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Jesus has picked YOU for His team.

If you are a Christian right now, you were picked for this calling to be on Jesus’ team and to be part of His family. This is a high calling and worthy of serious respect.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The devil has his team also and the rest of those who do not want the calling of God in their lives are on his team.

You see, Jesus is calling many (all) to join His team but most refuse and are even ignorant of the fact that, by refusing, they are accepting to be on the devil’s team.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

There are only two teams.

Luke 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

The thing is, is that Jesus’ team IS the winning team. Everyone else will lose, not only their heavenly reward but also their eternal lives in the lake of fire; where their soul will burn forever and never be quenched.

Mark 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Everyone WANTS to be on the winning team but not everyone wants to PLAY for the winning team.

There is a requirement to being on the winning team when it finally wins.

One must WORK at it.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

And we must still be on the team until the end.

Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

As with any team sport, it is not easy and, sometimes, not fun but it is worth every effort because our team leader, Jesus, LOVES US and WANTS US TO WIN.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Go, team, go!
