Pray for America

As we approach the time when we go to the polls to place our ballot for the person who will be the next president of the United States, we find we are in a delimma in our nation.  For several months, I read Revelation 1 through 3 over and over again.

Revelation 1 shows us a new picture of Jesus.  It is the picture of the Glorified Christ.  John's vision shows the Glorified Christ walking among 7 candlesticks that represent the 7 churches of Revelation 2 and 3. The vision shows Him (Christ) wearing a long robe, a golden belt. He has penetrating eyes of fire, feed like burnished bronze, his mouth speaking words of truth, and in his right hand he is holding 7 stars which represent the "angels" or messengers of the 7 churches.  Whew!

To each church Christ talks about the good they are doing, and gives direction.  As I studied (and certainly there is more than I have listed above), I thought of the churches of America.  Could it be that we need to repent as many of those churches were required to do? Have we lost our love for Christ or love everyone while tolerating sin in our ranks?

I suggest that we step back and pray in a new way.

P - raise the LORD. Praise Him for what he is doing in your life and will do in the future.

R - epent...and then repent for our nation. We see the difficulty and need to place it in God's hands.

A - ddress the issues at hand. What can we do to make it better; or are we to step back and simply stad in faith.

Y - ield to his calling and to His will.

That's all for today, dear ones.  May God show you truth in this message.

Thank you Sarah (praizeop2). I chuckled this morning because our Lead Pastor addressed prayer using Matthew 6 -- leading up to and including The Lord's Prayer. His looked more like this: P - Praise the Lord, R - Repent, A - Ask, Y - Yield. Had to share.
By the Way -- it is good to be back.
