Fitting In Part 2

What does fitting in mean to you?

Personally, for the most part, I don’t pay attention to wanting to fit in. Although it’s nice to be a part of a group that shares your interests and beliefs.

The Online Cambridge Dictionary defines fit in as

1 to feel that you belong to a particular group and are accepted by that group:

I put my question to people on the internet. Here’s some of their answers:

When my jeans fit great!

Doesn’t mean much; I do my own thing.

Feeling a part of something. (Jasmine)

Doing what other people want.

My friend Richard says It feels good. But more times than i care to admit I don’t feel like I fit in. It’s hard for someone who is an introvert to really feel like he or she fits in. So when you do fit in it does a lot for your self esteem.

“Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?”
― Ian Wallace

“Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it.”
― Rick Warren,

As a Christian we want to find our place in the body of Christ. We all possess different gifts and talents that God had blessed us with. God has a place in His kingdom for each of us to fit in.

1 cor 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

The world says if you’re not pretty, strong, popular, wealthy you won’t fit in. God teaches us the opposite that He cares about your mind and soul.

Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Wow! "Fitting in!" I don't know what it means cuz I have never done it. I belonged to a club once. I think it was ninth grade... a girls' club. I got in an argument with another of the members and quit. So for the rest of my life I was left out of things. Fifty some years after graduating high school, they still keep in contact. I still don't. Totally left out.
I went back for my fiftieth reunion and was asked to lead the before-dinner prayer. It was brief, in Jesus' Name. I still didn't fit in. I suppose it might be nice; but I might have to compromise. Blessings ~ Sarah

Amen! We all have fit into place in the Kingdom of Heaven. As a believer we are not left out of that promise. You did excellent and informative teaching on this subject!
