The Joy of the Lord
The Bible does not say that the joy of my children or the joy of my husband, my past experiences, accomplishments, present circumstances, or anything else on this earth is my strength. The word of God states that The Joy of the Lord is my stregnth. I can and will rejoice in Him, and depend on His strength. I am weak, especially as I grow older, but He is strong. He is the Savior of my life, He is my hope, He holds my future, though much is uncertain to me, it is known by Him. He has a plan! I may not know how to fix everything, and sometimes, this can cause a lot of frustration when I trust in my own abilities to fix the difficulties of my loved ones, or my own, and fail. No matter the difficulties, Jesus Christ is still on the throne.
What great joy we have in our Lord for those of us who belong to Him. The joy of the Lord is true joy. I of course rejoice in my husband, kids and all the blessings He has provided, every perfect gift comes from Him. We may not always be able to rejoice in the circumstances of this earth when we see the rough and rocky roads we experience or see our loved ones dealing with, and we do often face challenges. Remembering that our hope , strength and joy is with and in God, sometimes eludes us in this present age. Crashing stormy trials may obscure our view and we have a hard time seeing God in the storm, but He is there, He sees us through the crashing waves and the grey downpour and mist of the waves of our trials. Even when we cannot see Him in it all, He sees us. He promises He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Our Lord who has already done so very much for us, and cared enough to have endured the cross, still cares for us in a deep and personal way, we can trust in Him. Sometimes the burdens we carry for one another cause us to weep with those who weep, mourn with those who mourn, and there are not always happy smiles and a giddy joy, especially in the earthly difficulties! Despite these trying and worrisome bouts that we will endure, there is still joy and strength in Christ as we look beyond the physical and focus our eyes on Him. He knows us, He loves us, He has numbered our days. He sits outside of the sphere of our time. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He knows the beginning to the end, and the number of the hairs upon each of our heads.
A favorite verse that I treasure is "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it" because though days be frought with all that a new day may bring, if I can but focus my eyes above the storm and see my Saviors face shining above the storm, there is joy, I find strength in Him.
I hope that any who read this will be encouraged to fix sorrowed, weary or troubled eyes upon Him and His enduring love. Our hope to the end of this earthly age will find us resting in Him, restored, and forever rejoicing. Rest in Him now. He already saw you safely to the other side, remember? He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you, plans to give you a hope and a future. He knows YOU! Place your name here, He sees you, He loves you and calls you His own.
May the joy of the Lord be your strength wherever you are, whatever you are facing, and may you trust in His plan. There is a plan, plans to prosper you and not harm you. Even in chastisement, He only chastens whom He loves. Why? To bring you into a safe and happy perfect plan. Plans to give you a hope and a future. The world may pass away, but His words will never pass away. Seek Him, focus on Him.
May the joy of the Lord be your strength.
