Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

God loves joyfulness. One of the fruit of the spirit is joy.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

It is extremely difficult to fake real joy. Oh, I know, prostitutes, actors, and politicians are good at it but real joy, RADIATES out from a person and is actually felt.

1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Real joy only comes through a willingness to receive and experience it. Any reservations will quash the feelings and restrict them.

Many of us, have experienced laughter so abundant that we have cried or peed our pants. We give ourselves over to the laughter and lose control in the euphoria of the moment. Once we start, we seem to be out of control, but we had to, willingly, give ourselves over to the emotion to experience it in its fullness.

God wants us to, willingly, give ourselves over to Him and give Him control. The experience will leave us breathless but happy.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

I remember, as a boy, sometimes I would jump off a fence or small hill at my father and shout “Dad! Catch!” as I left the ground. He never failed to catch me and I never stopped to think that he wouldn’t. My trust in my earthly father was so complete, I trusted him even when he wasn’t looking.

God is our HEAVENLY FATHER and is more trustworthy than any other being.

Psalm 25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Psalm 25:3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

We shame God when we say we trust Him and do not, yet God WANTS to trust us.

Deuteronomy 23:21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

Deuteronomy 23:22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

Deuteronomy 23:23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

We must be willing and faithful so God can complete our joy.

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Solomon is but one example of a man who willingly and joyfully served God and his testimony is recorded in God’s word for us to read. So God will do to all those who will trust and obey Him.

1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

Then we also have the record of Zacchaeus.

Luke 19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

Luke 19:6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Give yourself over to God and trust Him because He loves a willing and cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
