459 SECURITY?

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Everyone wants security. Some kind of assurance that THEY will be prosperous, will be saved, will be accepted, will win, etc.

It has long been the goal of parents to wish their offspring security by organizing the present to make their children’s lives easier. This is no longer the main objective in today’s environment.

Today, people are not having children and they are living for their pleasure. Their wealth, their pleasure, their comfort, their security; whatever THEY think is what they want is driving the hearts and minds of today’s generation.

Ecclesiastes 9:3 This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

Monetary wealth is the great catalysts for the pursuit of security. This generation is convinced they can buy everything they need for happiness and security if they possessed a large amount of money.

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Today’s security is the extent of their vision.

Even the religious organizations waring and pillaging today’s world are run by huge amounts of money. They claim they are religiously right but resort to materialistic means to try to prove to the world that they are secure in the eternity.

They do not understand that God has sent them a vision for their hearts to trust in a lie.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2 Thessalonians 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Money buys guns, money buys strength, money buys power, money buys guards, money buys fences, and money buys the things people think will give them security.

Then there are those who think works will give them security. Always doing what they think is good and right to have a secure future.

Deuteronomy 12:8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

They live after the righteousness of the masses of people around them. Giving up wealth for poverty in a show of godliness, running around looking for acts of kindness they can do for men or beasts in the hopes God will be pleased, and attending loud or ritualistic religious groups and gatherings, in the hope of getting God’s attention. God says they have their reward in their show before their fellow man.

Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Their security is in their own righteousness and not in God.

There is only one way to be secure and that is God’s way.

Jeremiah 32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

God has made a way of security for our soul to live and a peace for our heart and mind.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There is no other way to find security but in Jesus Christ, God’s son.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Those who search for any other means of security are only fooling themselves and they will be sorely disappointed.

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Security is not in money; Isaiah 30:15 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
