Be Wise Virgins (Part 3)

The third part will be followed by the fourth part, which will come about a week later.

Matt 25:7  Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

They were all capable of doing the same thing.

Matt 25:8  And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

Oh, oh, looks like trouble for some in the camp. Some people thought that lamps could work without oil. They did not do what they were supposed to do for success. Notice that they did not ask Jesus for oil. They asked other people who were like them. Virgins asked other virgins. That means the oil and the lamp cannot stand for salvation or for the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 25:9  But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Matthew 25:10  And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

The closed door will be in the way of the world. The world has many ways, which they think will get them in the door except through Jesus. The bride of Jesus will always be ready, even in the last generation. The parable is about the last generation of Christians who will be alive at the coming of the Lord.

Matthew 25:11  Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Never underestimate folly. They did not give up easily. They thought that oil lighting a lamp was the requirement for entry to the wedding.

A lot of people think that works is the requirement to get entrance into the kingdom of God.
