Lamentations 3:33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Lamentations 3:34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

We are all prisoners; bound together and confined to this globe we call earth.

We were created in the image of God to be His friends and companions.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

It’s like living in a fishbowl where our God can always see us, but some of us live on one side, others live on the other side, some live in the caves and others live in the open.

WE have developed differences and have separated into races, nationalities and cultures, but we are all still human and have the ability to have the image of God.

WE, with the help of God’s enemy, have developed a whole culture, which is foreign to God.

God does not make war against Himself, does not enslave parts of Himself or have parts which rebel against His authority. He is in complete unity with Himself and is at peace with all of Himself.

Those who have accepted His salvation and have placed Him as Lord and God in our lives, also have unity and peace with Him AND His kingdom.

Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Those who hate God will rebel against Him and war with Him and His people. They will abuse each other and try to control those around them for their own pleasure and gain.

They will try to establish their own authority while ignoring God’s sovereignty over the world and everything in it.

Luke 12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

God tried working with this rebellion but it only grew worse down through the ages until Jesus died to show all mankind how it was supposed to be. He lived to show mankind God and His kingdom, and to release us from the prison we live in so we could be free in God’s world.

Isaiah 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Those abusers and controllers try to gain control over such a finite group and for such a limited time when they too are prisoners with humanity on this earth and have such a short life before their eternity is decided.

God is having mercy on all His creation because He knows our time is short and that we are prisoners on this earth. We are subject to its evils and live with those wicked ones together in our prison.

There is no escape from our earthly prison except through the salvation, which Jesus can provide by His gift of forgiveness. The gift that God wishes all who live in His earthly fishbowl would accept and escape to His love.

Isaiah 10:4 Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

All of us are like the two men crucified with Christ on the cross and are in the same condemnation. We are all bound to die and have the same fate together.

Luke 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

All we are prisoners together on this earth, unable to escape the punishment we deserve by wronging the loving God we have rejected except by the repentance and acceptance of His great gift of Jesus’ death for our sins.

Together we live, the abused and the abuser, in God’s fishbowl; prisoners together working out our eternity by God’s plan and unable to escape except through the ending God has provided.
